SKIN CARE REVIEWS

12.03.22DISCLAIMER

If you’re a woman in your 30s or up, there’s a good chance that a fellow mom or gym pal has tried to sell you Rodan + Fields products. Like a growing number of companies, Rodan + Fields relies on an army of “consultants” to sell its products directly to consumers.

Women, especially stay-at-home moms looking for flexible work options, have jumped on the peer-to-peer bandwagon. In their free time, they sell skincare brands such as Beautycounter, Younique and Ever Skin as well as retail brands such as India Hicks and Stella & Dot.

The peer-to-peer business model isn’t new. Women in the 60s sold Tupperware to each other at home-based parties, and brands such as Mary Kay and Avon established themselves by having their saleswomen sell directly in their communities. What is new is how brands such as Rodan + Fields have taken the peer-to-peer model and adapted it for the digital age. This new army of consultants uses Facebook and Instagram to promote the products. They host shopping parties with plenty of cocktails and may casually mention a fabulous new lash product in the school car line or at Pilates class. Out of all the peer-to-peer beauty companies on the market today, Rodan + Fields is by far one of the most successful.

What’s Inside Rodan and Fields Skincare?

Here’s a closer look at the active ingredients commonly used in Rodan and Fields skincare products. Vitamin C, retinol, and peptides make up the core ingredients for the Rodan and Fields skincare line. These ingredients should all be part of your skincare routine.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is used throughout the Rodan and Fields collection, in products such as REDEFINE Rejuvenation Mask, REVERSE Dual Active Brightening Complex, and more.

But our favorite Vitamin C serum is Carrot & Stick The Defence Serum. It contains 3 distinct types of Vitamin C that work together to help fight free radical damage. We recommend using it every morning.

Peptides
Rodan and Fields incorporate RFp3, a proprietary system of two skin-signaling peptides to soothe and restore skin, coupled with a targeted protease inhibitor that works synergistically with the peptides and skin’s natural processes to improve skin barrier, brighten complexion and prolong treatment benefits.

Our choice for a peptide serum is Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum. It contains 7 plant-based peptides to promote plumper and smoother-looking skin. It also has skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.

Retinol
The Rodan and Fields REDEFINE Regimen contains Retinoids in the PM step, since retinoids should be used at night.

Use retinoids at night. We recommend this retinoid oil serum. It contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, an ingredient that provides similar benefits with less irritation.

What is Rodan + Fields?

Rodan + Fields was started by two Stanford trained dermatologists, Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields. The duo had previously created Proactiv, a skincare line designed to target acne prone skin. It was a game changer because it was sold through infomercials, and it worked. The pair licensed Proactiv to Guthy-Renker, a company that sells products directly to consumers via infomercials.

In 2002 they launched Rodan + Fields. The skincare line is aimed at women age 30 and up. Estee Lauder bought the company and sold it in department stores but the line didn’t do well. Rodan and Fields bought their company back and in 2007 started to sell the products through a network of consultants. It was a hit. Social media proved to be a boon for the company as happy customers posted before and after selfies.

Fast forward a few years, and according to EuroMonitor International, Rodan + Fields is the number one skincare brand in North America in 2017 in terms of total sales, and has around 300,000 consultants. The company is valued around $1 billion.

What does Rodan + Fields Sell?

Rodan + Fields sells a comprehensive line of skincare products, which are broken down into four categories: Redefine, Reverse, Unblemish and Soothe. Redefine is designed for aging, Reverse for age spots and uneven skin tone, Unblemish for acne and acne breakouts and Soothe for sensitive, irritated skin conditions, such as rosacea. A line of enhancements supplement the range, including Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, a body lotion and Active Hydration Bright Eye Complex. There’s also a small line of Dermacosmetics, which is makeup with skin improving ingredients.

What Are Some of the Most Popular Rodan + Fields Products?

Rodan + Fields sells individual products as well as skincare kits. The Redefine Regimen kit retails for $199 and is meant to improve the appearance of fine lines and pores, and help users get smoother, firmer looking skin. The kit includes a daily cleansing mask; pore minimizing toner; daily moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 30 and a night cream.

Reverse regimens are meant to address skin discoloration by brightening skin and fading dark spots. The starting kit sells for $190 and includes five products: a Deep Exfoliating Wash containing alpha-hydroxy acid to whisk away dead skin cells; an Intensive Brightening Toner that contains a blend of salicylic Acid, kojic acid, licorice and mulberry extract, plus a Dual Active Brightening Complex that is packed with vitamin C and retinol. A broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen protects the face from sun damage.

One of the company’s most buzzed about products is the Enhancements Lash Boost, retailing for $150. It looks like a tube of mascara but contains a serum that should be applied to the upper lashes and eyebrows to give the appearance of lush, longer-looking lashes and thicker looking brows.

Do Rodan + Fields Products Work?

As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding- or in the sales numbers. Rodan + Fields is the top selling brand in the US which means the company is doing something right. Take a closer look at the ingredients in many of the products and you’ll see a range of beauty all-stars such as retinol, which is the gold-standard for tackling fine lines and wrinkles and encouraging cell turnover. For skin lightening and brightening, the company uses ingredients which are proven winners, such as alpha-hydroxy acid to smooth and soften skin, as well as kojic acid, a natural brightening agent. Rodan + Fields isn’t using obscure ingredients in their products – what they are doing is using ingredients known to have a positive effect on the skin.

How much does Rodan + Fields Cost?

Rodan + Fields products are expensive, and the price point is in line with what you’d expect at department stores and high end cosmetics boutiques. The Redefine Ramp It Up kit is $336. It contains six products (and a dermaroller) designed to visibly firm and smooth skin to combat the visible signs of aging.

Individual products are also pricey. Active Hydration Body Replenish, a body cream, sells for $66. The microdermabrasion paste is $80 while the Unblemish Dual Intensive Acne Treatment sells for $102. The star ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which is common in many acne fighting products. Customers need to decide for themselves whether these ingredients are worth the cost, or if they could find similar products at a lower price point.

The peer-to-peer selling model also may not appeal to everyone. Some women like the idea of building a relationship with a sales consultant, while others feel uneasy or obligated to buy products from a friend or acquaintance. The blurring of lines between friendship and commerce that isn’t for everyone.

Are There Any Side Effects With Rodan + Fields?

Any product has the potential to cause irritation or inflammation of the skin. Some of the ingredients to look out for are retinols, which can cause excessive drying and peeling, as well as any products containing alcohol.

It’s also important for users to read the usage guide carefully.

For example, with the Enhancements Lash Boost, Rodan + Fields says it is only meant to be applied to the upper lash and eyebrows. The company advises against using it on the lower lashes, as it may cause irritation in the eye area. One ingredient in the Lash Boost that has caused concern is isopropyl cloprostenate, which is a type of medication that was used to treat eye conditions such as glaucoma.

In spring 2018, a federal class-action lawsuit was filed in the US alleging that Rodan + Fields did not disclose potential side effects of the isopropyl cloprostenate. The lawsuit alleges that Lash Boost users have experienced “serious side effects, including change(s) in iris color, eyelid drooping, itchy eyes, eye/lid discoloration, thinning and loss of eyelashes/loss of eyelash hair, eye sensitivity, eye infections, and vision impairment,” according to the filing. Rodan + Fields has denied any wrongdoing.

Another ingredient to watch out for is hydroquinone. It is highly effective at lightening dark spots but is not without its controversies. It is banned in Europe, and some studies indicate it might be a carcinogen. It can also cause irritation. In the US, it is available in over the counter products as well as by prescription in a higher concentration. The Reverse Skin Lightening Treatment as well as the Skin Lightening Toner both contain 2% hydroquinone, the highest concentration of the ingredient available without a prescription.

Where Can I Buy Rodan + Fields?

Rodan + Fields products are sold via its network of consultants, which currently number around 300,000 people. Customers can also buy the products from the Rodan + Fields website as well as on Amazon.

What Is the Rodan + Fields Return Policy?

The company website says its offers a “satisfaction guarantee” and states “We offer a full refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping charges, within 60 days from the date of purchase.”

What Are Alternatives to Rodan + Fields?

If you’re looking for skincare products to address the signs of aging, we recommend Carrot & Stick. Carrot & Stick maximizes the use of powerful ingredients and minimizes the use of superficial ones, resulting in advanced skincare solutions that help promote healthy, more youthful-looking skin.

An absolutely amazing product👍I’m 56 years old and the Redefine range especially the rejuvenation mask worked wonders on my skin.
The comments I get are, did you have a facial? You’re glowing! What are you using?

Rodan and Fields changed my life. I’ve been religiously using their Unblemish regimen for 4 years and will never go back! I seriously cannot say enough good about it. I had TERRIBLE painful, embarrassing, chronic, cystic acne forever and tried everything under the sun including topical and oral prescription treatments and many other regimens and nothing worked. I used to never leave the house without make up and was sooo insecure about my skin. Rodan and Fields changed everything. I have PERFECT glowing skin now and hardly ever wear makeup. I get complimented on my complexion all the time. I absolutely love this brand and wish I could scream it from the rooftops how it changed my life. I will never stop using Rodan and Fields!!!!

Returned an auto ship item but the refund never showed up on my credit card account. I disputed the charge since I already returned the product. Called R+F and was told because I disputed the charge that they would not give me back my money. So now I’m out the money and do not have the product. What a scam. Poor customer service. They don’t care about customer retention.

  • Gayle Clark, just go to your account and cancel - It's that easy! Original review: Jun 09, 2022. Reply

Before R+F fulfills a flexible shipment order for its “Preferred customers”, it sends out an email 5 days in advance giving them the opportunity to either cancel, skip, or change their order. All you need to do is to log in and select CANCEL! Also, cancel your Preferred Customer account. You’d waste your money trying a class action suit when the information is so transparent.

I started on the Redefine Regimen about 3 years ago . After about 6 weeks it was clear to me my skin was smoother looking, with less visible lines and wrinkles and has a pretty, even glow. I loved it so much I decided it was a no-brainer to share it out with my friends and so that’s why I became a consultant. I love Rodan+ Fields everything they create is clinically tested and the company is sneaks innovating. If you’re interested in finding out more or working with me, take the quiz here which indicates which products the doctors would recommend for your particular skin care concerns.

Some people may have an allergic reaction or initial reaction to new products. That goes for any product. All products with ingredients are chemical products. It’s the dosage and application that matter. Same goes for the “toxic” ingredients people are wary of.
In toxically high dosages anything will hurt you. That’s why R+F products are specifically formulated with the right ingredients, in the right formulations applied in the right order.
Same for the lash boost, that ingredient is minute and the lawsuits aren’t going anywhere because people have yet to prove they have received the products directly from a consultant as opposed to some other illegal outlet. When I company becomes a billion dollar company people see money signs $$$
    I hope this helps.

As a licensed esthetician just reading the ingredients is enough to make me want to be sick. There MANY known carcinogens in this. Anyone with a brain knowing this and still continues to sell this product to their friends and neighbors isn’t right. This is complete garbage and dangerous! Any skin care brought through a third party seller who has to pay the company to get the products is a red flag. Go to a professional who can help you with your concerns and do research.

I was considering trying this skincare line and was very interested in the lash boost serum but I am very uncomfortable with the cancer warnings given with the products. When I asked the consultant about the warnings her reply was all companies have to give those warnings. After asking my eye doctor for her opinion of the lash boost serum I decided to walk away. She said she would never recommend it to anyone and gave me a list of harmful effects associated with the lash boost product.

I used Unblemish for my adult acne. It’s the only thing that has worked for me. Tried the Radiant Defense which is better than any dept store foundation I’ve used. The lash boost is amazing and effective. This stuff works.

I’ve been using the redefine line for fine lines and wrinkles/minimizing pores for 4 years. I get the entire kit including: morning cream, toner, mask and night cream. I use all products as listed in the instructions daily in the morning and at night and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my pore size and wrinkles around eyes and forehead! I stopped using Rodan and fields for several months and immediately noticed a difference with my pore size starting to enlarge again. I’ve since been back on the regimen! I consistently use and saw results within the first 30 days!

I stop using R&F products after allergic reactions that happens twice. After 1st reaction I had some rest from R&F products but than I had started using it again, but the 2nd allergic reaction was really bad, my skin was on fire and I recognized tiny bumpe all over my face. I would never ever come back to use the products again! It damaged my skin! Since I’ve stopped using it I got a huge problematic skin! DO NOT USE THIS CHEMICAL PRODUCTS!!!

I started using the lash boost serum. At first, my eyelashes looked great. They grew and began to look thicker. However, over time, I started to notice that my eye lashes would fall out extremely easily. Since I started using the product my eyelashes are now way thinner and delicate than better.
I had to stop using the product and start using Castrol oil to help my eye lashes again.
I would not suggest at all. This product is so expensive and there are way more natural ways to grow and thicken your eyelashes. Look out!

I am an R+F consultant in Australia. I have been using the products for six months and I have had fantastic results and lots of positive comments. I threw out all of the other products because they simply were not anti-aging as promoted. R+F do use social media and it is disappointing that many people are upset at this- we are trying to rum a legitimate business and if you do not like the posts ignore them, its that simple. As for customer service here in Australia they are very helpful.

I was scrolling through this page and came across your comment. I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you. The person you purchased from should have told you there is no commitment to every 60 days autoship. Unfortunately this was a consultant issue not a company issue. The customer can delay their order as long as they need until they are ready. I normally handle my customer accounts and make sure they are aware of their next order. If they are not ready, I simply delay. Again…I apologize for this irresponsible consultant that sold to you.

I ordered a ONE time order, yet they continue to debut my account over 170.00 and send me products that I send back with a cancellation letter, and a cease and desist order. This is ridiculous. I wish I had never heard of this company. Their products aren’t worth 25.00. And to return them each time I have to pay shipping. I will be looking further for a class action lawsuit against this company.

I struggled with cystic acne for 4 years, trying every product on the market. Spent lots of money seeing several dermatologist through the years with several rounds of antibiotics and precription creams. Unblemish saved my face! After 3-6 months of continuous use my skin cleared! I have been using it for over 3 years now! Now I am able to incorporate other products from their line to help my wrinkles, sun spots, and sensitivity. I love that as the seasons change and my skin changes I can incorporate different products to help! I absolutely love Rodan + Fields and will probably never use anything different on my skin!

I fell for the Facebook pictures/reviews myself. Tried 2 rounds of Redefine and Reverse at $350 each. Not only did these products have ZERO results on me, I am STILL TRYING to get $700 in refunds on 2 different returns, unopened regimens, returned 3 months ago. Starts with “we didn’t receive either of those back”, then I provide both tracking numbers proving they certainly did receive them back. Then “we’ll look into it” but i don’t hear back. Then “are you doing a chargeback? we can’t process this, it says you are doing a chargeback” (I wasn’t). then “we will process this now” then “if you don’t hear back from us, maybe you should just do a chargeback”, then “we are sending you a check now” and still no check 2 weeks later. My last call Friday for a status update was told “i don’t have access to that information, i will call you back today after I research it”, and shocking… no call. About 10 calls & emails since November and I’m out $700 and the product. The lash boost did work. I suspect most reviews are made by consultants selling the product. Amazon has some products blocked from reviewing due to “unusual reviewing patterns”, so something fishy is going on.

I have always had decent skin, a few break outs here and there but never that bad. But a few months ago my once got pretty bad. I order the Rodan + Fields Unblemish to help treat it. I can say without a doubt this is the worst product I have ever used. I have used it for about 6 1/2 weeks and it has only ruined my skin. My face has never looked worse in my entire life. I have huge major cystic acne on my forehead and my chin and lots of little zits everywhere else. It also dried out my face so bad that it constantly peels. I never write reviews but I am so self conscious about my skin now I don’t want others to buy this product and feel the same way I do!

  • Susan Original review: Feb 14, 2019. Reply

This article mentions buying product on amazon but for everyone new to Rodan + Fields I would advise to ONLY buy Rodan + Fields products straight from the Consultant. Don’t ever buy from a 3rd party like amazon or ebay because they are “resellers” who could be selling a rip off product. and if you try to return it they likely won’t let you. Rodan + Fields website or consultant is the only way to officially get their product with 60 day guarantee.

    Haylee,
I’m sorry you had a not so good experience! I personally use unblemish and have been for almost 2 years. I experienced what you did; my breakouts definitely got worse and my skin had never been that bad. My skin didn’t start clearing up until I hit month 9 and since then Ive only had a few pimples due to medications I am taking. The 60 day trial can be helpful but if you pay attention to the clinical trials most people don’t see major results until maybe a 90 day mark. But again the trial is helpful if you just plain don’t like it haha!
I hope you found something that works for your skin!

  • Eyelashe serum works, but... Original review: Jan 30, 2019. Reply

First of all let’s just one thing clear, this company is just another pyramid company where you have to get consultants, sign people up, have parties, add new members, sell so much product per month etc. Also everyone hates companies like this, because it causes issues between friends, family and relationships in general. No one wants to sign up to be a “preferred member,” or buy anything for that matter because they don’t want to be obligated to be on an auto shipment…I know I sure don’t. I actually had to cancel my card just to get off the auto-ship because my cousin would forget to “stall my shipment.” My cousin started selling this and ever since then I have been constantly harassed to sign up for things, purchase things, have parties, ask my friends to sign up etc. Out of obligation I ordered a few things and received a skin care set from her for free. I Purchased the lash serum which works surprisingly well! Then I ordered the redifine regimen and she gave me the reverse regimen. Both do what their supposed to do, but I also found just as much success in other, less expensive products/brands. She also signed me up to be a preferred customer because “she needed to sign up at least four people for the month.” Now she’s calling me weekly for my reorder or to see if I know anyone who would like to sign up. I’ve only used less than 3/4 of each regimen. I don’t like doing the auto ship and use my products on a normal basis, so this whole monthly/bi-monthly auto ship is a no-go for me and probably most people. So basically it’s just another expensive skin care line like many others with the exception of the lash serum which works wonderfully. It takes about 6 weeks to start working, but my lashes are amazing!! One tube lasted me for six months and even though it is not recommended to use it that long, I had absolutely no issues using It for that duration. And for $150 a pop, I’m going to use it that long. So if R&F ever reads this here’s my tip…drop the auto ship and the prices and change your business tactics. Just be an online store and ditch your consultants, because no one wants to be harassed by consultants trying to make their quotas each month! If we want to buy your products, we’d much rather do it on our own accord.

The Reverse product line burned my face and the company, instead of switching me to a different product, told me to go see my doctor. I used it as instructed and found the burning and dryness to be too uncomfortable and discontinued use after a couple of weeks. The company’s response that I see a doctor was disappointing to say the least.

Hey Carol! I just happened upon this sight and your comment jumped out at me. After reading I felt the need to reply 🙂
I am so sorry that you had that experience! My mother also gets very itchy and irritated eyes from using lash boost, so you aren’t alone. However, I have lost count of how many satisfied lash boost customers I have. It doesn’t irritate most people’s eyes, but you may unfortunately be in that small category of people who do.
In case you still had the desire to use it I wanted to tell you a couple things in case your consultant didn’t tell you.( By the way, very unfortunate to hear that he or she didn’t tell you about the 60 day return. I myself have returned something I decided I didn’t need).
So the most important thing with lash boost is that you WIPE the excess off on the lid first! Too much product is the main culprit of redness and irritation. In addition, most people (myself included) find that the redness and irritation goes away after 3-4 days of use. Like anything else, your skin might need to get used to it and that may take a couple days. Usually people find no issue after fixing those two things.

Again, so sorry for your experience!

I ordered the Unblemish Regimen from a facebook consultant who I know well. She was very helpful and the products were nice. She informed me that my skin would get a little worse before it got better. I was aware this would happen, but I did not think it would get as bad as it did. After about three weeks I contacted my consultant to see why my skin was not getting better. She suggested I keep using it for a long time. My skin has never looked worse in my entire life. I used this regimen for 3 months and had to stop because my acne became so bad. I then tried to return this because they have a satisfaction guarantee. But its only good for 60 days. They will tell you to keep using the product so that you go over the 60 day return limit and then you are out almost $200 dollars. This was a waste of my money and I will not order from R and F again.

I purchased lash boost from a consultant and i didn’t try it for several weeks mainly because i was just so busy i simply forgot. When i did try it my eyes were so red and irritated and my vision was not very good either. I didn’t realize that was what was making my eyes so horrible so i used it for a couple more days before realizing the reason. I stopped and the next day my eyes were so much better. I tried just dabbing a tiny bit on my finger and trying it on my eyes again and the red eyes were back same as before. I was not told there was a guarantee but i would have missed it anyway since i had waited a while to use it. What a waste of my hard earned money!!! Very unsatisfied customer here!!!!!

I agree 100%, Barbara. That is how I practice my business as well. These products are not for everyone and I am not here to “sell” them…but rather educate and share information.

I also watched my friend’s skin change over a few months and I reached out to her to see what she was using. She did not pressure at all. She gave me the information. I did some of my own research and I tried it, mainly because I had spent WAY more than that on anti-aging regimens that cost MORE and only last ONE month, not 2-3. The most disheartening part–no refund option and they did NOT work whatsoever. I figured with the 60-day money back guarantee with R+F, I couldn’t go wrong. My results have been incredible and I no longer have to cake on the foundation like I used to. I used to go through a bottle a month of foundation/cover-up. I haven’t bought one since I joined over 3 years ago. I will never go back. Of course, I want to help others achieve the same results.

I am truly sorry for those of you who had bad experiences. Clearly, you had a consultant who wasn’t practicing in the same manner. That isn’t the norm and I am truly sorry you endured those issues. For me and in my over 3 years of experience, I have NEVER had a customer not receive exactly what was promised. Customer service is phenomenal and the business is what you make of it. My advice, find a non-pushy consultant with whatever company you choose to try. I believe in practicing with integrity and with the goal of helping others get the same type of incredible results I have seen. Who wouldn’t want to NOT have to wear make-up all the time? It may be pricey (certainly not the priciest I have tried) but it does work for me and for most of my customers. For those it didn’t, they simply returned their product for a full refund. No hard feelings on either side.

I wish you all the best of luck!

I not only developed hives on my arms, but angiodema (different portions of my lips randomly swelling every 6 days or so). I was using a small amount of the Redefine Intensive Renewing Serum on my upper lip. I actually don’t know for sure if all this is the result of the product, but did not have these problems before I started the treatment. I stopped the treatment this week so let’s see if the hives/angiodema also go away. Sure hope so!

Juice Beauty, Tata Harper and drunk elephant are all organic and all-natural. A lot of companies only put in a few natural ingredients and they are allowed to call it natural.!!!!!!!!!!! But these three are truly all natural. I have been in the business for years and these three companies are the best

I think it’s the hydroquinone that they have in their products. I have been in the beauty business for years and I have been told on numerous occasions you can only use hydroquinone for 2 months and then you have to go off of it. It does have the potential to cause cancer if you read about it.

    WARNING!!!
    Severe Reaction
After Using Rodan and Fields Redefine Skin Products

    REDEFINE AMP It Up

I purchased the above products in good faith after a Rodan and Fields representative spoke highly of them. I have always used upmarket well known brands such as La Mer, Guerlain, Dior, Sisley, La Prairie, Chantecaille, Payot and By Terry. I have never had a reaction to any of these products.

I used all of the Rodan and Fields products day and night for two days and the reaction that started has to be seen to be believed – see photos

The reaction occurred on my face, neck and in between my fingers where the cream touched when applying.

As soon as I realised the reaction from the products was occurring and getting worse, I ceased using them.
I contacted Rodan and Fields in Australia to return them for a full refund. The company did refund my money and when they saw my photos agreed they needed to be sent to their American home base for analysis. I insisted someone from America contact me, as I had to see a skin specialist and was prescribed prednisolone (cortisone) in order to clear up the reaction, which took weeks.

I did hear back from a Rodan and Fields American rep who was very nice on the phone. She took notes on what had happened and passed this on to the company. I requested reimbursement for the holiday I was on at the time it occurred as it significantly impacted on what I could and couldn’t do –see photos as to why. I was in the Gold Coast and couldn’t risk going out in the sun and I looked terrible –people asked what happened? Have you been burnt?

After three months of emails back and forth the company has denied any responsibility for my reaction. They stated:

    1. Your reaction is not from our product

    2. You were out in the sun all day -not true, I specifically told them I was not out in the sun and had been at Commonwealth Games events that were inside and/or at night.

    3. I only used the products once – I told them I applied the products am and pm for two days

    4. Australia is a country where you need to know how to apply sunscreen – I had told the rep I always have an SPF of 20 or higher on my face either through my skin care or foundation.

    4. You indicated you have sensitive skin – Yes I do have sensitive skin but only reactions to some foods that I eat. I told the Rodan and Fields Rep who sold me the products that I have sensitive skin.

I am disgusted in Rodan and Fields’ Response and the lies they have stated in order not to take any responsibility for what happened to my skin. Their motto is ‘To do the right thing!’

I want to warn as many people as possible about what can happen when using this particular Rodan and Fields range. It has many active ingredients and my specialist said he would never recommend a product like this.

I would be interested to know if there are other people who have had severe reactions to these products.

That’s a professional response. Wow. I’m not sure what you are calling Helena’s excuses but hives/skin allergies are not fun. Consultants may have access to a ton of reference materials but that doesn’t make them derm experts anymore than reading how to perform an appendectomy would provide you the knowledge to do so. Good luck with your product.

    Hello!

I am 42 and while I am blessed with great genes for skin my age was starting to show. I also lived in tanning booths when I was younger, so crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles were getting worse.

I met up with a friend from high school who was selling R+F. I was upfront about having no desire to sell anything, I’m not a fan of hard sales and that seems to be the only way to succeed with MLM companies. She was fine with that and went over the products with me. I started with the redefine regimen. Since I spent the money I was determined to follow through with the steps. Within a few months my crow’s feet went away and my skin started looking fantastic. I became a preferred customer and slowly added in the enhancements over time. I’ve now been a customer for years and the money I spend on R+F more than pays for itself in the fact that I no longer need to use any other type of make-up, especially foundation. Even in the winter I can go without most of the time. If I’m going out I use their mineral peptides foundation- a little goes a long way. For years I was loyal to Bare Minerals but I now prefer R+F. It’s lighter and more natural looking for me. My regiment lasts longer than a month, so my cost is very reasonable. I use mascara and lip gloss for makeup now, that’s it. And thanks to the lip renewing serum most of the time I don’t even need the lip gloss.

I agree with those that have commented that not all products work for everyone. R+F def works for me. My friend had stopped selling a while ago so I did have to find a new consultant. The lady I buy from now is an absolute dream. I have yet to get an order sent that I didn’t need and she’s always hosting sales, specials and sending samples to me. She doesn’t use a hard sell approach, not that she would need to with me.

I’m very happy with R+F, I feel like I’ve finally found something that works with my skin type and I’ll be using for years to come.

    Angel

I tried R&F because a friend sells it. I am open-minded enough to make my own decisions. So here are my opinions – most of it is hype and not worth the money. But a few products I love and will continue to purchase. The sunscreen is good stuff – doesn’t feel disgusting. The lotion is wonderful – seriously helps very dry skin. The lip balm is okay, not fabulous but much better than most I have tried, and I have tried everything out there I believe! I read the reviews about the lash boost and was concerned, but decided to try it. I admit….I love that stuff. I have extremely thin hair and basically had zero eyelashes that were visible. This stuff is fabulous. I even buy it for my sister now. All the other stuff I have tried is okay but I can find cheaper and better products elsewhere – I even prefer Oil of Olay as a moisturizer over all this expensive stuff. But the stuff I like……I really like!

    Dear Bad Lash,
So sorry you had that experience! The thing I learned about lashboost is that you have to wipe the wand of , like if you were applying liquid eyeliner, and us very sparingly. A little goes a ling way. and only use on top lashes. Also, its not money wasted because Rodan and Fields has a 60 day money back guarantee! Check back with your friend who sold it to you. Google the Rodan and Fields return form. Its online. Hope this helps 🙂

I’m a preferred customer with R&F and I forgot to change my auto ship date for my order. My order was stuff I already had. When the product came, I “simply” shipped it back for a refund. I followed the return policy as stated on the packaging slip. Well….after 15 days of not seeing my refund, I emailed the company and they tried telling me that they never received the product. My tracking information through UPS stated otherwise. I continued to email and they continued to refuse my refund. It’s now been 31 days since my return and I still don’t have my refund! I emailed my R&F consultant, and she is doing all she can to help! What a joke! Their slogan of 60 day money back guarentee maybe should be changed to “it takes 60 days to get your money back, but you might not get it at all!”

When a product website says ingredients cause cancer, maybe you shouldn’t be using it. I noticed it after I used the Reverse Lightening regiment and woke up with a red, swollen, painful face. To make matters worse, I reached out to my consultant who never responded to me. She had no problem getting right back to me when I wanted to purchase the product. Once I purchased the product, I never heard from her again.

Umblemish Regimen – I was so excited to start using this skin care regimen. I had heard amazing things and was ready for my skin to finally be clear. I have combination skin, never had super bad acne, but always 5-10 bumps then getting worse around my cycle. I decided to give it a try because of their 60 day money-back guarantee. My skin got tremendously worse. I kept reading “it gets worse before it gets better” so I stuck to it for 52 days not missing a single day or step. My skin got extremely rough and dry and my acne got so much worse. My skin completely changed. I was having to exfoliate anytime I was going to wear makeup, and it was completely rejecting my makeup. It wouldnt go on my skin anymore, it wouldnt stay on, and no matter how much I put on it did not cover up any of my acne. I even tried getting different makeup after about 5 weeks to see if that would make a difference, even worse. On day 53, I returned it (the return process took about 2 months to actually get my money back). Just 2 weeks after stopping use of the product, my face was back to normal. Moderate acne, my makeup works again, my skin doesnt feel dry and rough. I DO NOT recommend this product.

I haven’t met a woman yet that wouldn’t like to have beautiful long eyelashes. At age 50 I thought I would buy from my friend who is also an anesthesiology nurse. Yes she has quite the medical background. She is a wonderful person however she is caught up in the hype of yet another company promising wonderful financial gain. I utilized the lash boost. I put it on as directed when I woke up the next morning my eyes were red. My eyes looked puffy and when I splashed water on my face in the morning they began to sting. I mentioned this to her and she said she had no idea she had never experienced any of that before. I believe her I don’t think she would be lying to me about that. Perhaps she never experienced any redness, puffiness or other adverse effect. The fact of the matter is that I did and quite honestly I only care about my reaction! I thought maybe it was just an off day so I tried again. Exact same result. That lash boost that set me back quite a few bucks along with some other goodies that were free for trying actually are still sitting in my drawer. After reading about all of the other people that I’ve had adverse reactions I think I’m just going to throw them in the trash and chalk that up to being enthusiastic over the possibility. It was always so annoying to read the multitude of Facebook posts advertising long lashes and better skin. I guess I’ll take my short lashes and healthy eyelids over a potential serious problem. I guess I am most annoyed at myself for not researching the ingredients.

I am an R&F consultant, but I would have to agree with you, WG10. I got into the business for me and I am still in it for me. When my friends ask what am I doing that makes me look younger, I tell them about the products. If they are interested, I show and tell. If they aren’t or maybe even just a little, I tell them as much as they want to know. I am always available if they ever become interested. If I have to hard sell this product or try to steal another’s prospect, then this product is obviously no good. Before I signed up, I watched my friend’s face transform for over a year. It’s a product that really does work, but like a lot of things, it isn’t for everybody. One will only waste their own precious time and resources if they don’t try it out first and make sure it is something that will work for them; however, any multi-level marketing business or scheme, as some would like to call it, takes lots of work and integrity before one starts to make any money at it. My friend is starting on year five in the business and is just now able to call it her working business, because she has built her business on a foundation of integrity, not hard sales and stealing other’s potential consultants. Myself, well, I am one of her “broken legs” because I am in it for just me.

When I first started using R&F products, I started with the Soothe Regimen. In my entire life, I had never found any product I could use to cleanse my face because I was hyper sensitive to all products; warm water and a little soap was all I needed. Needless to say, I was very hesitant in trying anything. I started with the Soothe every other day. It burned at first, so I cut back even more until I could start adding more days. Eventually, I could use it every day. After 10 months, I switched to Redefine and I liked it even better. After 3 1/2 years going between these 2, I decided to try the Reverse Regimen. Biggest MISTAKE ever. My face broke out with red blotchy and really itchy spots. My hairline was the worst on top of the fact that it dried my face out so bad that I flaked like I had psoriasis. I used the product for 3 weeks thinking, “This is just typical. Hang on;it’ll get better.” Like other customers, I was told the same things… I had to go back to the Soothe regimen to calm my face down in addition to using a doctor prescribed ointment. 2 months have passed and my face is about 80% better. Saying all of this just means that we, as consumers, have a lot of choices to choose from for our skin care. There isn’t a “one size fits all” skin cleansing regimen out there. Find what works for you, and your budget, and call it a day. BTW, I still love R&F products; it has taken me time to know which ones work for me. Reverse is definitely not one of them.

I’m an Esthetician with a passion for helping to educate people to become more informed consumers! Best thing you can do is learn to READ INGREDIENT LABELS!! Ingredients always speak for themselves. (Rodab and fields are subpar at best.) I’m always trying to find new ways to shed light on otherwise complex/confusing topics such as deciphering ingredients and manufacturing processes on my blog.

Many of the Rodan and Fields products include dimethicone and other polymers in their formulations (and near the top of the ingredient list- meaning they are amongst the highest concentration)…not only are the majority of the “beneficial ingredients” they claim in their marketing located near the bottom of every list (meaning they are in very low concentration), but many of them are being blocked from being able to absorb into the skin due to the presence of the larger molecular sizes of the ingredients that precede them.

These silicones are used for many reasons. First, they are cheap. Second, they sit on top of the skin and blur imperfections- giving a “false” and temporary illusion that the products are doing what they claim. But they actually impede the skin’s cellular turnover rate and are of other detriments to the skin over time and with cumulative exposure.

You can only purchase their products through licensed Esthetician’s – but they have a location finder on their site. I’ve used their professional and at-home products for over 4 years now (after trying countless other professional brands – including $$$ ones from abroad) and nothing compares. They finally bridged the gap between “natural” and “effective”! And the prices are also extremely reasonable.

I appreciate this company’s integrity in posting which products include carcinogenic ingredients. Go the the product page for each item you’re interested in and if it does include ingredients identified as being cancer-causing you’ll see a warning posted below the description.

There are plenty of cheaper alternatives and you should seek the advice of a dermatologist instead of an unqualified consultant that reads off index cards or recites someone else’s advice as if it were there own. Of course consultants recommend it because your condition is potential commission. Sad but true!

First of all their regimens don’t cost 400 or 500 dollars. And I don’t know about you but I had really bad sun damage. Looked like I had a dirt tan. I tried all the other “over the counter” stuff , didn’t work and I couldn’t return it for any refund, let alone a FULL refund. I used the reverse regimen and to no avail it WORKED. I finally had clear skin a even tone that even foundation wouldn’t cover correctly. I went from a preferred customer to a consultant. The products last 60 + days. So, with that said don’t knock it until you try it.

So obviously ya got some consultants leaving comments on here…however a friend of mine sells & I thought I might help her out & buy. HOLY COW! Really? Starting at the min. price… $10 for gauze pads?!!! A regimine for almost $500? Even hand cream $51…I thought Bath & Body had expensive lotions…It’s great if you want to try it bla bla bla & you have that kind of cash laying around…but $37 eye makeup remover cloths…Really? $5-$10 is reasonable. Check it out…one of my high school teachers told me this years ago…so before you look down on something you can find at Walmart…here’s a little tidbit that might save you a buck or $400…L’Oreal, for example, owns Lancome, Maybelline, and Garnier; Estee Lauder owns not just Mac, Clinique, and Bobbi Brown but also cheaper brands sold at Kohl’s (lifehacker.com)

I have done a fair amount of investigation and research on Rodan and Fields. Not only do their products contain a plethora of toxins, they often don’t warn their consumer of their cancer-causing and skin-irritating ingredients Worse, they go out of their way to market their products as totally safe and non-toxic, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

I’m a Esthetician as well for over 30 yrs. I have worked with many NY dermatologists. You don’t have to have a license to sell skincare. So that is erelivant to the comments. Many good lines have people working for them with no experience or license either. I don’t agree with that but long as you get educated on what you are selling then good luck. And for some it may work and others not. Also not all people are against harsh things in products. You need some to get good results. The harsh ingredients are canceled out by the hood ones most of the time.

I’m a licensed esthetician. The creators of Rodan & Fields are the same creators of proactive. The ingredients in both of these lines are pretty harsh on the skin. Alcohol is found in the third listed ingredient on more than a few products. The consultants are not licensed to determine which products can best suite your skin type/condition. Even in proactive I’ve heard it doesn’t work for a lot of people and that’s okay. You’re gonna find that with every brand. It works for some- others, not so much. But when someone is having a reaction to any skincare, I suggest to stop using it right away. If someone has rosacia, I wouldn’t reccomend to do a chemical peel because it’s going to get inflamed and that’s not normal. So if burning, itching, inflammation, or anything along those lines happen with any brand of skin care, I reccomend to stop using it. Plus, with the other active ingredients such as retinol, glycerol, extracts and oils, there are products out there that are at a waaaaay lower price point.

Glancing through the hundreds of comments from R+F sales vultures over all this time here has been quite amusing. (“Sign up with ME! No, sign up with ME!”) That should clue you in to how oversaturated and difficult MLMs generally are. Unless you get in at the very beginning, your chances of making any money are slim to none. I see the majority of these “consultants” from years ago aren’t even in this “business” (scheme) any more. If you like the (overpriced) products and want the discount to use on yourself, go for it. But don’t try to sucker these poor, unsuspecting women to sign up UNDER you when history says they’ll only be wasting their own precious time and resources.

Multi-Level Marketing companies and “Pyramid” Companies are not the same. Multi-Level marketing products are sold through word-of-mouth whereas Pyramid Schemes don’t have legitimate products, just empty promises to get rich quick. A pyramid business model is how not just MLMs operate, but much of how Corporations operate as well. Just think about it. The CEO and executive branch get paid the most while the those at the bottom of the hierarchy are paid lower wages. I see more of a benefit for working for an MLM as they generally have no cap to how much you can make. If you work really hard, you can be very successful. Whereas, in a corporation, your rank generally dictates your earning potential. Also a benefit to working for an MLM is the ability to work from home and on a flexible schedule.

So by not buying from a friend, relative, stay at home mom, or dad – purely based on the business model is naive. I’d rather give my money to someone who needs a more flexible lifestyle than an high paid CEO.

People rarely write reviews when they are happy. I tried some R+F that a friend gave me (eye clothes and the night serum) and both made my skin feel fantastic. I’ve tried other things that had great reviews that didn’t work for me. Not everything liked by some will be liked by all and since people have a variety of skin issues and conditions there won’t be a single solution for everyone. Try the product .. If it works for you great. If not, send it back and try something different. Half the people complaining either have other issues they may not be aware of, work for the competition, or want to sell you a prescription because believe it or not doctors often do get kickbacks from prescribing certain things AND if you can fix your issues at home, then who needs them.. right? Of course they are not going to talk up a product they are not selling.. they would rather you come see them. I have seen many negative reviews on here from people who haven’t even tried the product. Also, if something is making your skin dry, or clogging your pores, perhaps you chose the wrong regimen for begin with. Just because you have a few acne prone spots does not mean you need the acne solution if the rest of your face is good. Many people have combination skin, or acne caused by hormones or bacteria (like staph around your nose). You can’t blame the product for not correcting something it wasn’t meant to correct. Negative reviews as well as positive reviews are all relative to the situation that motivated the reviewer to write it in the first place.

I have tried both the Reverse toner and the Redefine moisturizer. I do not have sensitive skin as I have used prescription Retin A and have not had any problems with it. I started using both the toner and moisturizer a month ago and before long I developed an uncomfortable burning sensation all over my face — as it I had scrubbed it with rubbing alcohol. I ended up rubbing Vaseline all over my face at night before I went to bed to alleviate the tight burning feeling. I was willing to give it time but at the end of the day no product should make your face feel that uncomfortable. At the end of the day most dermatologists will recommend products readily available at your drugstore.

I called the consultant and she said it takes about 3 months to see results…so I would have to purchase this product once more to see results and I was not having it. I stopped using this and it is now collecting dust. Don’t waste your time and money on this

I had a similar experience. I purchased a regimen only to help a friend and it was so hard on my skin, it started itching and got really dry. I emailed her and said I wanted to take advantage of the 60 day return policy. She replied and said she wanted to call me to “discuss my issues” with the products. When she called, she basically said to use them every other day instead of every day. I was so disappointed. She was nice, but it was clear she didn’t want me to return the products. Even at places like Neiman-Marcus, I have been able to return skin care products with no issues — and no attitude from the sales staff — and certainly no attempt to dissuade me. I agree with Mary — Kiss your money goodbye. I stupidly signed up for the auto refill but will just put the consultant off month after month if I have to. I only wanted to help a friend. The products are terrible — but they are not worth the price. You will get similar if not better results with Clinique. And “consultants” are barely trained — the woman who helped me could not answer any detailed questions.

The only fake sounding review on this page is yours lady. No derm in their right mind would endorse such a subpar level product. The same active ingredients in their toners are the same active ingredients in windshield washer fluid. Im guessing your a consultant who has had “a life changing experience” with photo shopped before and after pictures.

I am sorry to hear that you have had such a poor experience with our products and with the consultant. While allergic reactions are not common, you have had an unpleasant reaction and your consultant should have helped you find a resolution rather than make excuses or comparisons. Everyones skin is different. Consultants have a ton of reference material available as well as the R&F nurse line to address many concerns. Unfortunately the skill of customer service for some does not come naturally. If you are still having issues and you have not come to a satisfactory resolution, please reply I’d be happy to see what I could do to help.

I don’t understand a lot of these comments: 1. You can’t expect your results to remain after you stop using the products- it’s a regimen, not magic. If you shower on Monday-your results from that shower won’t last until Friday- you to continue to take care of your skin- it’s cream and lotion not a magic wand.
    2. If you have acne-unblemish isn’t going to magically get rid of all the junk built up in your pores and under your skin- so yes you’ll probably purge because you have pimples on the surface right now but the pimples you would have gotten 3 weeks from now are building up under your skin now- and will eventually surface. when you start a regimen it expedites the process and you break out more and all at once- hence purging- keep up with the regimen and it will subside and your skin will clear up.
    3. If you’ve been using clean and clear or soap on your face for years and finally switch to real skin care your skin will probably have an adjustment period- whenever you start something new you have to adjust-( when you start exercising for the first time in years your body is sore- do you stop exercising because your muscle hurt? Not unless you want to remain fat.) so yes, your skin might be red, dry, etc… it’s adjusting to real skin care. Keep at it- or use it every other day until your skin adjusts.
    4. California is the only state with the “products causing cancer” law. Rodan and Fields is sold in California so it needs to be listed on the products. They also list that on luggage, pencils, clothes, and pretty much anything sold in California. Get a grip, California.

And the customer service is fine- I’ve never had any issues with it.

  • Whitney Original review: Aug 08, 2017. Reply

It states directly on R+F website, under the product descriptions, that it has an ingredient “that has been know by the State of California to cause cancer” and lists the legal statute that requires them to declare it. This is directly from their website:
    “For California customers:
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Benzophenone, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. Click here for information about the FDA’s position on Benzophenone.”
Apparently, at least according to this manufacturer, only California thinks cancer causing agents should be declared.

I have been using their skin care products, when coupled w/ the Exfoliator, which was between $250-300, I was afraid to use it at first, but eventually I found it worked well, but it kept turning off & I thought it was because I was accidentally turning it off by the way I held it. Eventually I realized it was turning off by itself even more rapidly, now I have had it more than the 1 yr warranty & it shuts down before I finish 1 area in less than a min & will not power up. I have cleaned it properly, & changed the filters. After I purchased it & sometime in the past yr they stopped selling it for some unknown reason, I contacted their customer service only to find they carte blanche would do nothing for me including not replying to anything other than my initial inquiry. I gave one to my teen-agers & theirs still works & the lady that sold me mine, hers still works. I truly believe mine was faulty & my request falls on deaf ears. It bothers, because its disrupted the entire process I had going. I can’t feel good about going forward w/ a company that does not believe in its customers.

  • Helena Original review: Aug 03, 2017. Reply

I absolutely despise this company, stupid me let one of their consultants talk me into trying out a regimen and it gave me allergic reactions (hives). I contacted the consultant again and she had the nerve to tell me that my “small itchy bumps” were my skin “purging” itself, I’ve used enough skin care products to know that when I get little hives on my face, it is an allergic reaction. I even spoke with one of my friends who works with Bobbi Brown (products are way less harmful then Rodan and Fields) and she even said what kind of a bs is this person telling you, hives ARE allergic reactions not your skin trying to clean itself. This consultant tries to talk me into keeping this regimen saying that she had asked her other customers and they had the same reactions as me, and that they found out that by using smaller amounts, they didn’t get any hives. This consultant just confirmed that another one of her customers has allergic reactions to this skin care line, AND whether or not you use an amount as small as a pea or as much as a grape, it DOES NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC, THEN YOU ARE ALLERGIC, NO SMALL AMOUNT WILL CHANGE THAT FACTOR.

I think this company or whatever needs to either educate their consultants more or send them to dermatology school or something, I’m no expert and so aren’t their consultants, DO NOT LET THEM TELL YOU WHAT THE PRODUCT SHOULD DO FOR YOU, they are not certified to tell you why your skin is acting the way it is.

They also do not include return shipping labels if you ever want to return anything, I know this is a minor thing but I feel that companies that provide return labels are more appealing then those that does not. I cannot remember the last time I returned something where the return label is not included.

Many estheticians sell R and F. Becoming an esthetician is an 11 month program at our beauty school nearby. It doesn’t mean you are familiar with chemical compounds ☺ R and F products were developed by dermatologists, who have gone to stanford medical school and practiced a number of years. But I guess your beauty school education afforded you a lot more knowledge than the doctors and chemists who developed the products. Just saying. Many of the women who sell the products have more education than you. Perhaps you are a little jealous if the income?

NEXT DAY SHIPPING does not, in fact, mean next day shipping. If I am paying $25 for a service, it had better do what it promises. I ordered yesterday for the first time. Paid $25 for next day shipping. Received an email saying my order would process in 7-9 business days, and also reflected the $25 next day fee.
I called and spoke to someone and it took placing me on hold for quite some time for them to come up with “it was a technical error”. So will I receive my order tomorrow? Oh no. It will ship the day after their warehouse fills the order, in 1-2 business days.
FALSE ADVERTISING. This is my first experience with this company, and it’s a bad one – and I haven’t even tried the product yet!

I have had some skin issues lately, I normally have amazing skin and pride myself in that, but I’m 30 and my age plus the sun damage is starting to show. I have had to go to my dermatologist and asked about many different lines for my skin including R+F. My dermatologist immediately stated to never use their line because the products contain possible cancer causing ingredients among other things. The dermatologist also stated to me that the line doesn’t cure you skin problems, just like proactive, you must consistently use their line and once you’re off of it your skin will revert back. You aren’t treating your skin, you’re only masking the real issues. I have found an amazing line for my skin and I beg anyone that is looking for a regiment to go see an actual Dr and not a sales person.

I have use the unblemished products before. It’s clears up but then another cycle of breakout happens when you stop using them. So therefore I stop using them because the downside is that it cost to much and have heard the customer service reviews are bad. I just go with lots of water, green tea/matcha and apple cider vinegar pills along with charcoal or clay mask. And they clear up fast and you don’t have to use them everyday and it’s cheaper and you get experiment too. But drinking lots of water is the deal breaker. I would avoid proactive though but everyone skin is different. It’s that same science, I found it cause dry patches and never used it again.

The hard sell puts me off, so I won’t even try it. I have higher end skin care products I use for years and love they r effective and less expensive than the RF products she keeps trying to sell me. I did give it one shot but she kept telling me what to do and how to use it that actually made me not continue in and of itself. I find that her clients respond to the hard sell and so I think the hard sell is part of the product, I think there r people who would not use it if they weren’t pressured into the product relationship. It’s worth mentioning here that the lightening product ingredients r linked with cancer and most product lines who use and sell their products with the ingredient have the warning on the package and RF doesn’t not offer the warning on their package tho they have the ingredient. It must be the marketing style that allows them to get away with not having the warning.

My friend just became a consultant and ended up being able to give me a regimen for free to “test”, as long as I follow it exactly and take pictures of my progress. I got the Reverse regimen, because, frankly, I don’t have a lot of skin problems. I have freckles, but I like them, I don’t have age spots, I rarely get acne (although I have a problem with blackheads around my nose), and even though I’m 37, people are routinely dumbfounded by age. But the Reverse is what the online tool told me to get, and my “consultant” is in no way trained in anything “skincare” and had no other suggestions. If I had known a different regimen would help with pore appearance, that would have been the best line for me to use, but the online tool didn’t offer that up as “problem”. Anyway, everyone thinks I’m in my early twenties. It’s a running joke with my friends, I’m routinely dropping jaws when I hand over my ID. I only started using this stuff to help out a friend. (Important to note we hadn’t really been close when this “opportunity” came up – now she talks to me all the time, but it feels like she’s faking the friend stuff in order to get to the R+F stuff.) I had to stop using the products because a) they broke me out terribly, b) the toner, serums, and sunscreen made my skin super greasy, and c) my skin got red and inflamed every time I used the stuff, so much so that I was still red and hot TWO HOURS LATER. I used more makeup to cover the redness, even though my friend tried to also sell me on their light coverage powder – because “if you use the products, your skin is so great you don’t need anything else!” I was also told that acne breakouts happen with everyone, because “your skin is purging toxins, this is how it works!” Everything the consultants tell you is a lie to get you to buy. They have an assertive sales plan and they train their consultants to come at you any way they can. They’re even trained to get you to also drink the koolaid and come join their sales team. My “friend” didn’t reconnect with me to be my friend, she used me as a business resource. I went to her with legitimate concerns about what her products were doing to me, and she suggested MORE OF HER PRODUCTS. I’m thankful I didn’t have to pay for it, but I still don’t appreciate the experience.

So she went to her up line and they told her all products contain some degree of those things they don’t have to list them on the ingredient list. Seriously??? So, first off they lie to get sales? Then after months of pressure I finally bought the line for my husband and when it showed up one of the products had a warning on it that it had an ingredient in it that was known to cause cancer in the State of California. Plus these products do not all get 5 stars on the beautypedia. I have noticed my daughters skin does look a little better, but whenever you use retinoids they have the proven ability to work. I say do your research and get higher quality products that work.

The redefine Mask tightens your skin and makes u feel great! The microdermabrasion paste exfoliates leaving your skin soft and smooth. It can be used on your face and all over your body. The best eye cream in the market. The soothe #3 cream, moisture replenishment cream gives more hydration to my skin, and has cleared up my children’s eczema!
Customer service is easy and helpful, and FYI your 60 days start from the day you receive your package. Read your receipt, the date is not that of the day you purchase.
All these reviews sound pretty fake to me. I am married to s dermatologist who loves these products. Everyone needs to try these products for themselves before passing on them. We all have different skin. Give it a try. You truly have 60 days to try the products and get a refund if u need. Any dermatologist will tell you to use a topical cream for 6-8 weeks to see results with prescription drugs. This company gives you enough time to try them.

We create data and analysis on thousands of products and services around the world” Whether you like their products or not the facts are the facts so just because you don’t like the facts doesn’t mean they’re not true. If you don’t like the products each to their own. However you don’t become a Billion dollar business if your selling crap – you just don’t. They don’t say 100% of people will love their products or that they can treat every skin condition either. If you’ve got serious skin issues then of course consult your doctor. R+F products are the closest thing to dermatologist skincare you can buy over the counter. If they work for you awesome, if not then just move along & find something else that does work for you as each to their own.

    I wouldn’t really call what I’m experiencing a “rash”.
A former coworker of mine began selling R+F and I started seeing her dramatic changes (and having worked with her, I already knew she had great skin– and this was her “secret”!). It took almost a year to try it (finances) and was excited to try something that might actually work for my horribly dry and sensitive skin.
and it worked! Soothe WORKED!!! I wasn’t having to reapply moisturizer to my face 30 times a day! finally, my skin wasn’t painfully dry and irritated.
but within 2 weeks, that changed. I started dealing with clogged pores. HORRIBLY clogged pores. It had always been normal to me to suffer an occasional pimple due to the fact that overly dry skin will attempt to create more oils and often lead to a clogged pore as a result. Add in the occasional hormonal breakout. But never have I ever experiences anything like this. My chin has been consistently broken out for over a month. And I thought maybe my skin was dealing with an adjustment and would sort itself out if I kept using the regimen (because, again, my skin IS NOT dry or painful, except where I’m breaking out all over my chin, and cheeks.) At one point, I had a breakout so bad in the crease of my chin that it did not heal for an entire month.
I’m back to square 1 again, and going to re-start my search for a face cleansing and moisturizing regimen that not only leaves my skin feeling moisturized and not painfully dry, but also doesn’t clog my pores, and perhaps I can also find some anti-wrinkle add-ons.

I have to say, the multi-function eye creme is actually kind of awesome. I should have taken before & after pics.

Theresa, I’m so sorry you are having such a time with your skin and how dry it has become! There is a 60-day empty bottle money-back guarantee, and you can get your money back no matter what! Talk to your consultant about a different regimen. You don’t say which one you are using, but if it is drying your skin so badly, you need to try something else. Please don’t give up! This is wonderful skin care, you just need to find the right regimen!!

Britney, So sorry you have had such a bad experience with R+F. If you developed dry, irritated skin, and have had terrible customer service, you can take your complaint to the company and they will get to the bottom of it for you. Your consultant is only 1 person, or maybe you’ve been through more than 1 consultant. That person or persons need your feedback. I have been using R+F for 2 years now, recently went through chemo and radiation and lost my hair and lashes and brows thinned out something terrible. I love the Redefine regimen as I am 61 and people say my skin looks amazing, even when I was going through chemo. I started using Lash Boost 6 months ago, and my radiation therapist could not believe how long my lashes were! This was a couple months after completing chemo and after starting Lash Boost. I truly hope you will give R+F another chance. It has just recently been identified as the #1 Premium Skin Care Brand in North America. Ahead of Estee Lauder, Clinique, etc. I wish you the best of luck, Britney! Connie

Hi Stephanie, Your skin is constantly changing and renewing itself. Just like every part of your body. The cells that make up the skin on your face are constantly renewing themselves. You slough off old cells (yes cells do die), and new cells are growing and replacing the dead cells. If you took a month off from using any skin care, you cannot honestly expect your skin to remain bright and for the spots to not show up again. Maybe you used something else during that month you took off in between the 2 rounds of Reverse. At any rate, the results of any skin care will not last if you stop using it. R+F or any skin care cannot change your face forever if you do not consistently use it. I suggest you start using it again and use it consistently! I bet you will be satisfied and happy with your results! If you are not satisfied, the company has a 60-day empty bottle guarantee, so you have nothing to lose! I am so glad you shared your frustration, it helps us provide better service. Thanks and have a GREAT day, Stephanie! Connie

I have not tried the product as of yet but I will say a lot of the ingredients are not exactly the best for you. I checked on the Skin deep sight and am hesitant with some of the ingredients listed. I know it is hard to get an all-natural product but I won’t risk it.

Lost of photoshop pictures and there lash boost….well info lash extensions and can totally tell they some of these women have extensions. Also in some of these pictures the before has no mascara on them or very little mascara and then the after picture is caked with mascara! Mascara can do a lot of ones eye lashes 🙂

I am commenting only on this response from the RF Consultant:
“I am so sorry you did not have a positive experience but be sure you have all of the information before commenting on the business structure.”

The reason I am here today is to do research on this line and business before purchasing or becoming a consultant and this response tells me everything I need to know about your “business structure.” How dare you critique and publicly belittle a random, anonymous paying customer’s honest assessment – not marketing or bs as I am sure she is not getting paid for her review. This response completely supports her original statement about the quality of customer service she received which tells me the problem is systemic and not isolated. I was concerned when I went to a meeting and asked very basic, specific questions about ingredients and I did not receive one response based on anything except hype. Thank you all help in making this very easy decision.

I’ve been using Rodan and field for about three weeks now and on the box it said by now my acne should be clearing up… but so far all it has done is dry out my skin… ALOT. And I’m pretty sure my acne is getting worse, despite following all of the directions on the box. The one plus of this product i am seeing so far is that it makes my skin look more like one color. I used to have red blotchy cheeks but now my whole face (bssically) looks one skin toned color

With the 50/50 chance you give it to work and a 60 day money back guarantee, I would try ANY other product over the products I have been sold by dermatology professionals that are 4 times as much $ and do NOT have any return policy. There is NO risk AND a chance to be as happy as I have been.

  • sedial Original review: Apr 04, 2017. Reply

I am bummed that “professionals who have never tried these products for themselves insulting what they have only dissected on paper.

I spent thousands getting those prescribed toners and lotions you all mention in your posts AND have had multiple treatments by “licensed medical aestheticians” and dermatologists over a decade looking for something that would not only deal with my fine lines, but with the texture of my skin. It was a HUGE waste of time and money. My skin never felt soft and I saw no anti-aging improvements. It looked the same and felt “scaly” after every treatment and everyday. I tried prescribed lotion/regimens, etc. I tried injections, filers, etc. to deal with fine lines and the deep ridge between my eyes. The aestheticians could not ever unclog the 5-6 milia I had even after multiple regularly scheduled facials. Not could they unclog the few clogged pores on my cheeks.

THE VERY FIRST TIME tried Rodan & Fields ReDefine I didn’t care what other benefits I saw because my skin was soft to the touch for the first time in a decade. I bought the whole Redefine line including the little blue capsules, the fine line eye treatments, etc. Every single thing worked. Not only were my fine lines around my eyes much better (not gone by any stretch, but much better,) but the macro exfoliator (which they don’t carry anymore) helped the fine lines on my forehead quite a bit. (Sadly, it did not really help my laugh or frown lines.) Finally, and a VERY big deal to me, I noticed that my milia had been brought to the surface and that I could EASILY remove them myself and said goodbye to them forever. I was ecstatic. So I personally feel that I was scammed by the “professionals” in my life as the VERY expensive products I purchased per their recommendations never worked and those professionals I paid out the nose to visit NEVER offered me my money back when THEIR suggested products didn’t work. They just tried to sell me something else. So the $200 tube of retinol and the $500 3 product line that went with it were barely used (retinol made me very red,) and went into the GARBAGE. I spend 1/4 of the money now and have infinitely more benefit. Not everyone will be as happy as I have been, but I know a LOT who are.

Finally, there is an aesthetician above who has practiced for 27 years and loves R&F. Why does she and others knock it? My neighbor uses it and still treats herself to a facial every year at the same office I used to go to just because she likes to have one. Her aesthetician tells her that her skin looks amazing and that she can’t offer a thing to improve it for her. THAT says a lot.

I purchased the Reverse regimen, partly to support a friend starting her business and partly to find a new skin care regimen. While I saw no appreciable difference in my skin at the end of the 60 days, the thing that really bothered me was the 60 day money back guarantee. Don’t think that you can use the products for 60 days, as encouraged, and get your money back if they don’t work. Their 60 day count begins on the order date and the returned products must be received by them before 60 days from that date. Not much time to try the products and see if they work.

  • sedial Original review: Apr 04, 2017. Reply

Your consultant should have had you try the Soothe line and add it to your redefine regimen. A good consultant follows up and helps you to modify as needed and help you to send back the product that may be irritating your face (not everyone can use every product in any skincare line.). For instance, using the redefine mask and am moisturizer in the morning and the soothe cleanser and moitsurizer at night may have helped you. My daughter had to rework her acne regimen several times before she found the right balance to treat her acne yet mange her sensitive skin.

I love the lady that introduced me to this company but when having to call the company with a simple payment issue that could have been resolved with a few clicks of the keyboard and mouse, they complicated the whole damned process and was rude, inconsiderate and were more willing to take MORE money out of my wallet to ship back to them than to just resolve it via telephone and keep a customer. What a bunch of DOLTS! Also, they are not pro’s. They are far from L. E.’s and I will not revisit this company or their products again.

You can easily find the ingredient lists on their website. Go to their website select Shop Skincare, select the line you are interested in, click ‘Read more’. Under that, you will find three tabs: Description; Usage; and Ingredients. I am a user and a consultant and have been using the Redefine regimen, the micro-dermabrasion paste, the night serum, and the AmpMD roller for about 14 months now. My skin has never looked better. There are tons of brands out there: some good, some bad, those that do animal testing and those that don’t, some that are ‘all natural’, some that have medical-grade levels of specific topical ingredients, and those that you can only obtain via a doctor’s prescription. Price is not necessarily an indicator of purity or efficacy. It is true that your skin is the largest organ of your body. It is both a barrier and a conduit so you should do your homework in order to feel confident in what you put on your skin, including for simple things like body moisturizers. There is lots of info readily available if you do a search. All I can say is that you won’t know what works for you until you try something, even brands recommended by dermatologists. Drs. Rodan and Fields are both Stanford-trained dermatologists with decades of experience who continue to maintain their private practices in addition to having this business. R + F provides a 60-day, empty bottle, money-back guarantee so you risk nothing financially by giving the products a try. You can’t usually say the same thing for something you buy at a retail store. Good luck with your search for a product line that works for your particular skin concerns!

I am a nurse with a history of working in the cosmetics industry. Nurses are NOT, by any means educated on the skin and skin conditions these products are claiming to treat. We do not research the ingredients that are in these treatments. In Nursing school, you learn the basics about general medical issues. In anatomy, you spend one lecture on the skin. So for R+F to have nurse consultants to help answer your questions, unless they’ve been through aesthetician school, they’re feeding you lines written for each situation. This is appalling!

Paul, I totally agree. The consultants are deliriously happy to share with you the pyramid scheme and the great products. I am in the middle of disengaging myself from a rabid consultant (changed her life, she is her own CEO, tons of posts of social media- I think they may have a quota) simply because I don’t like the products. It didn’t help in the slightest (reduce redness, I was guaranteed the products would work, which I doubted) and it is expensive. I had no reason to continue but you would have thought I was pulling the plug on a loved one’s life support. No means no.

I tried two separate products, following the directions that came with the products and had horrible results. I tried their acne products and they actually made my skin break out more than when I was using another face wash designed to prevent acne. Plus the smell from the sulfur in the face wash was horrible and I had an extremely difficult time getting used to that odor. I stopped the acne regimen after about 6 weeks and then when my order was up for renewal I decided to try the Reverse products. Big mistake, because these products burned my skin. I received a chemical burn from this product and had to use a prescription cream to get my skin back to normal which took about about a month. Then when I tried to return the Reverse product, I was told that the return hadn’t been received within the 60 day return window (which was bogus) and, therefore, was not eligible for a refund of almost $100. To top it off, the consultant basically stated that it was my fault that I must not have followed the directions correctly or didn’t give my skin enough time to adjust to the products when I shared what happened.

Where were they in the first place? I admire your resolution to stick by the product but the product doesn’t seem to be sticking by you? I am not sure on current products. Just giving stars based on proactive which was originally produced by the same people. My mom also consequently sued them b/c what their product did my face. Our win will never change my mind about their products but I was invited to a business launch of a friend who is starting this so I will attend but will not be buying and will obviously I’ll keep my mouth shut.. so why am I commenting? IDK to say I wash my face with organic bar soap and put melted organic coconut oil on my wet face before bed. I wake up wash and use aloe vera gel with a light moisturizer. I rarely wear makeup and my skin is what other women would call “stuff of ledgend” I also exercise, and eat very clean. Maybe it’s genetics maybe it’s my ritual in any case nobody needs to treat bad skin with some fancy cream or wash. Skin is treated from the inside out. If you want glowing skin you can’t be lazy. You have to exercise, meditate, eat very clean, wash your face. Some people have horomonal skin issues that needs to be addressed by a family doc. That’s all I have to say! 🙂

I will be having MOHS surgery this week at the dermatologist office, then drive over to the plastic surgeon’s office to have it closed up. As you may have noticed Reverse was removing the dullness and spots caused by sun damage. Once you stop using it and continue the same practices in the sun you will certainly get them back. Even if you do an expensive IPL treatment to remove sun spots they will return if you continue to not protect your skin from the sun every day – even on those cloudy days! The products do work. They are not a miracle cure. They are scientifically designed systems to be used for as long as you want the results to remain. Just like a diet. Once you stop good eating habits and exercise the weight will return.

  • Sarah Original review: Mar 14, 2017. Reply

Becca, I disagree. The goodwill and cameraderie you describe is a credit to the consultants and not the business. However you repackage it and whatever miracle product is dangled out in front, multilevel/network marketing business models only benefit early adopters and the people who start the business. They will make their thousands and drive away with their shiny white Lexuses (Lexi?) at the expense of the bottom level consultants who will, at the VERY best, break even on their sales until they finally let their consultant registration lapse and try to offload garage-fulls of expired products on family and friends at 50% off.

Because the product is not revolutionary, it’s wildly overpriced, and the majority of sales are fake, inflated by friends and loved ones who either feel guilty or want to help someone “start their business.” When that goodwill runs out, they’ll be back buying Olay and Lancome products.

This sales model is predatory and the enterprising stay-at-home suburban mom is the victim.

If you worked out for 2 months straight, then stopped working out, would your body change and go back and lose muscle tone? absolutely. These products are like any regimen, consistency of using them is what is going to give you results that continue and last. I have been a long time user of these products and have had great results.

I’ve been using raw Shea butter to relieve and moisturize but it still has chapped spots. It almost feels like a chemical peel where the skin tightens up (and makes you look old!!), but then it never peels like it did with the chemical peel and it is accentuating wrinkles. I don’t know weather to continue. Does this phase pass? If so, when?!!!!!

I’m sorry you did not see the results you were hoping for. One of the biggest things with taking care of yourself is consistency. You wouldn’t work out every day for 3 hours a day eating super well for a month, see that 6-pack of abs, then stop for a month expecting those abs to stay, right? You need to keep consistency with everything. The results will last, but you can’t just expect to not do anything to maintain them.

Unless you are a trained professional dermatologist or esthetician, you are simply guessing as to what the real skin issues are. There is a difference between Irritated skin and dry skin, details such as medications, diet and hydration, your routine and current products also play a role. So its no wonder that R&F is not working for many people and causes reactions in the skin!

I was gifted the lash boost formula for Christmas and was reluctant to try it but didn’t want to disappoint the person who got it for me so I tried it anyways. I already have long lashes that I really have no problem with. But I was hoping lash boost would add volume and darken them. 10 weeks later and I’m devastated by how my lashes look. I absolutely hate them. Now my lashes are weak and brittle and many have fallen out. They are definitely longer, but they look like wispy and are impossible to curl. They look horrible with mascara on. I’m honestly devasted and hope these results don’t last too long. Please, if you like your lashes at all don’t use this product! Forgot to mention it gave me a rash where I applied it for the first two weeks and was very itchy! Also, if you’re a consultant please don’t tell me to “just keep using it” to get the full results. Even if it does get better, which I fully doubt, seeing my lashes as they are now is NOT worth it!

You are correct, Stephanie, that you do need to continue to use the products to maintain your results or at the very least a strong SPF daily. The Reverse regimen fixes sun damage by reducing the signs of it (freckles, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles) just as you said it did for you. However if you stop using the products and expose your unprotected skin to UV rays you will create new sun damage. Continuing use of the products will maintain your results and continue to prevent future sun damage. It’s just like if someone eats well and excercises to lose weight, they can’t expect to go back to eating donuts and not gain the weight back. It’s continued practice that gives continued results.

Now instead chatting like friends I feel pressured to join this great opportunity and will most likely lose a friend over this. Do the products work? maybe, are they worth the money? perhaps, is this something I’d want to pressure my friends and family members into? nope.

Just to clarify on use of words, REGIMENT normally refers to a large group of (traditionally) military people. I think you probably meant regimen. Sometimes folks have tried using regime, which is something else entirely different.

The noun regimen (pronounced “redge-uh-men”) primarily refers to a systematic plan, in particular a regulated system of diet and exercise or a prescribed course of medical treatment. … The noun regiment (pronounced “redge-uh-ment”) primarily refers to a military unit or any large group of people.

He said I should send it back for a full refund (minus the preferred customer fee). I sent it ALL back, and just received a form email that there would be no refund – due to either being outside the 60 days, or that not everything was returned. A form letter, that didn’t specify which reason. This is definitely a scam, R&F is not interested in providing customer service or havng long term customers. There is much better skincare available from far more reputable companies. Buyer beware.

I am sure your friends that are selling would appreciate your support of their small business because the company actually is legit, does give back to the community and especially to it’s consultants. They don’t have an advertising budget so it is a word of mouth business, which is why you see so many posts! I know all this because I just attended a launch party for a friend who I supported by buying product and bringing friends. Sorry that you have such bitterness toward the company and don’t really know what you’re talking about. The company was rated #1 premium anti aging line and is #2 overall just behind Clinique. But hey, I hope you’re using great products that you love and continue to be satisfied with them. You really should lay off of your friends that are just trying to make a living like everyone else. You just sound very rude.

I used 4 months worth of The Sensitive Smooth line. It was fantastic while it lasted I lost my job so can not afford to buy more. I think this product is a lot like proactive skin care in the sense that once you quit buying it your skin goes back to what it was or worse. My skin is terrible and I’ve only been off it for a week. I wish there was something that was more reasonable with price and you could justify spending it every 3-4 months.

I’m not an aesthetician, but this must be maddening for you! My consultant, who had no background in skincare prior to selling, has questioned my dermatologist’s recommendations. It’s frustrating, to say the least.

I also have several friends who are skincare specialists at a large cosmetics chain. Of course, have no where near the training you do, but they have gone through pretty extensive training, as well, and several have complained about having to undo the incorrect teachings R+F consultants have provided to their customers. So frustrating!

The products don’t work for me, either. Normally I’d just shrug it off – there are always going to be products that work for some and not others, no big deal. But the vehemence with which the consultants defend the products and the business model, going so far as to insult those with legitimate concerns about either, is frightening. And, I agree, a six-question online quiz and poorly trained consultants are no substitute for actual dermatologists. Heck, even skincare consultants at Sephora go through much more extensive training.

Why assume she doesn’t understand? MLM companies have been around, and have been following the same model, for ages. The selling tactics have changed a bit with the advent of social media, but they still function in much the same way and they still prey on people in the same way. I’d argue that she’s being more supportive by not buying the products. 99% of direct sales consultants stop selling within the first year – she’s not giving her friends false hope, which I feel is admirable.

I do not sell R&F and have been using Soothe for 4 months for my rosacea and have very sensitive skin. I love this product!!! It took 2 months for me to see a difference and now my skin is a healthy pink not red and the broken blood vessels are not there or visible. I have tried all kinds of products and this seems to work the best for me. I also use the eye cream and lip serum and love them. No more puffy bags under my eyes and the fine lines around my lips are almost gone for this 60 year old grandma.

Hi, Kathy. It sounds like Perioral Dermatitis. I am 49 and have had it. It has come and gone from my teens until now. I can go 10 years without it showing up and then back it comes. I get a red bumpy rash in the creases on both sides of my nose and then on my chin, mostly below each side of my mouth. I have to go to the dermatologist to get a couple prescriptions for it: a pill (minocycline) and a topical cream (Avar, similar to Sulfacet R). It takes about 6 weeks to completely clear up. Flouride can irritate it so watch out when you’re brushing your teeth. Many creams/lotions/ and other facial products can irritate it, as well. Try to keep your hands off of it! I have used a few products from Rodan and Fields and have had no issues (Reverse, Lash Boost, Eye Cream, and the little blue capsules and grey capsules). It will clear up…just go see your dermatologist! Good Luck!!

You are dillusional if you think prescriptions is the only way to go. With all the side effects they have you can keep them. If you have people haunting you and pressuring you then let them go. If you are not interested then so be it but these products do work and they have proven results.

Some people do experience dryness which is not unusual. When your skin is not used to premium products you will have different reactions to the product. There is nothing wrong with using an additional moisturizer. Talk to your consultant and have her recommend something to combat the dryness. My customers usually get it for FREE from me to make sure they are happy and to see if it helps.

  • Toni Original review: Feb 12, 2017. Reply

You are terribly wrong when it comes to the 60 day money back guarantee. If you are not 100% completely satisfied you simply gather up the entire regimen (why keep what you say you don’t want) and box it up and return it prior to your 60 day deadline. While these products have proven results time and time again, they are not for everyone. I have never had anyone be told they couldn’t return their products and no hassle fromthe company. You apparently had a consultant that didn’t do their job or you were well past your 60 days.

I am not a skin expert, or licensed. I am a 50 year old very educated, doctorate degree and a licensed therapist in a few different states, and I saw radical aging. My cousin was selling the products and I had been using other very known products with no results, so I jumped. I do have to say you need to be very precise with the skin took test, I first ended up with Redefine and it was nice, my skin felt good, but I wasn’t seeing results. I then retook the test and it said reverse. Within 45 days I saw a huge difference and then started using the lash boost, that is an incredible product. I was so happy with my before and after pictures, trust me I was just in Las Vegas and met a guy unexpectedly and he said no way was I over a day of 40! Anyhow, I decided to jump and sell the products one to cover my costs, to share something that works with friends and family and others I meet and three I get bored in my off hours and needed something to do. As a consultant I would agree their business model is not the best, slow shipping chaotic promotions and communications, but I believe it is worth the frustration because the products are good, however, you must get the right regime for your skin, we all very different! However, what works for the goose does not work for the gander and to each his own. I also do not hound my facebook page for this very reason, I post once in awhile and reach out that is it. Refuse to do the whole, hey, I haven’t talked to you since 4th grade kinda thing. Lame. I do believe that there is a good business opportunity for those who need it. I run a successful company and I am very happy so for me it is not a goal to become a top seller, but for others it might be. We are all just trying to survive and I applaud those who do sell, it is a hard and vulnerable position, otherwise, go work for the government in a nice, safe secure, boring world. I don’t know just my two cents worth! If you are interested, visit my page and I can help you!

Do you sell R&F? Because it really seems like you sell R&F. I can’t see any other reason to pretend the business practices aren’t shady as hell.
Any skeptical consumer sees right through them.

  • Judy Original review: Jan 27, 2017. Reply

I’ve read just about all the reviews on R&F. I have also google searched the review for the top 3 listed above. All have about the same good and bad reviews. Bottom line is simple- you can’t trust the reviews. Either you trust the product or you don’t. You have to try it first. If it works, great- if it don’t -oh well, at least you tried it. I am giving R&F a try. My niece is selling it and she has beautiful skin. I figured I would give it try and support her at the same time. I may not get the same results but it might not be the product-it could be that we have different skin.
As for licensed professionals, I can tell you that is not always sound advice. In many cases- sometimes all you need to do is use common sense. We all don’t have the same skin and we all don’t live in the same place exposed to the same elements. If you try something and it doesn’t work- give an honest opinion but do it without slamming the product. 🙂

The products do change your skin – but you do need to continue to use them. Everyone should wash their face daily & use sunscreen…only a few more steps in these regimens. Rodan and Fields have never claimed to change your skin forever – without continued use. I know that once my skin was where I wanted to be – if I missed a day or two it did not make a big difference. Sorry you didn’t realize when you purchased that you would need to continue to use to keep your results. These doctors and the company are the most ethical of business owners and do not make claims that are not clinically proven.

  • Anonymous Original review: Jan 24, 2017. Reply

The first comment about Rodan & Fields having unethical business practices is basically not true. I am sorry that you are so angry about this line of products but why? The before and after pictures are taken of real people with real results. They have a 60 day money back guarantee to support the results with their Multi-Medi Therapy. There is no deceit or dishonesty with the claims of the products and the business model. How can you assess the ethics and efficacy of a product if you haven’t tried it. I would try and support your friends endeavors rather than be so negative. Try one of the systems for your skin type with a 100% 60 day money back guarantee! What do you have to lose.

  • Rhonda Original review: Jan 23, 2017. Reply

I agree with the OP. It is to the point when I find out someone is a R+F consultant, I RUN! Each one I have met are so pushy and just won’t give up no matter how often or in what manner I say I am not interested. If they just wanted to sell me products, I would be fine with that but they are only interested in getting me on their team to sell. I am not going to sell! That isn’t me and none of the pep talks will work on me. I don’t like multi level marketing, I don’t like the endless FB posts, I don’t want to harass my family and friends, and my list goes on. My main reason for not being interested is that I worked for a dermatologist and attended many skin care seminars and product training classes. I learned to check ingredients and know what each one does. R+F products do not have anything any more special than many other OTC skincare products. If I had a skin issue, I would see a dermatologist and purchase medical grade skin care products that has the correct ingredients to really make a difference. Someone else posted about using Vaseline. My grandmother used Vaseline her entire life and maybe some Oil of Olay now and then. She recently passed away at 89 years old. Her skin was amazingly beautiful.

I am not a RandF consultant but I do understand facebook algorithms. All the fellow consultants are doing is encouraging their friends and business partners and by commenting, facebook will show the post in more of their friends newsfeeds. I don’t feel that RandF is misleading, in fact, they offer a money back gaurantee even if the bottle is empty. Instead of being so negative about your friends trying to make a little side money promoting something they believe in, try being happy for them

  • Becca Original review: Jan 17, 2017. Reply

It’s too bad you feel that way. I can see your frustration but you have to see that is individuals and not the business. Consultants are super excited because the DO see results. They actually offer a 60 day money back guarantee and are a very legit business. They aren’t misleading friends and family. They are excited and actually quite supportive of one another rather than nasty competition. You may not be convinced but maybe be more supportive of your friends rather than so negative about something you don’t fully understand. Maybe you will soon notice how they begin to look even more lovely than normal. 😀 Best wishes

I am not sure if Rodan + Fields products are effective or not as I refuse to purchase them. The company’s business practices are less than ethical and their sales tactics via Facebook are dishonest and misleading. CURRENT sales reps are the people who comment on the FB posts saying things such as, “Wow! What amazing results! I definitely need to try these products!” Really?! Uh, you ALREADY are selling the products! Or, how about their claims that they are the #1 skincare line – ahead of Lancome and Estee Lauder … this is NOT true. As for the “before and after” picture, no need to comment – they scream BULLSH#T! Sadly, I have a few close friends selling the brand and now their R + F posts have taken precedence over pictures of their families etc. So as I mentioned initially, I wouldn’t know if the products actually work…because I will not contribute to business practices that knowingly mislead friends and family.

I have to agree with Katherine on this. It is annoying when some products run out before another especially when many of these products are sold in sets. I used Unblemish and always ran out of each product in the set at different times, so I ended up either having to go without one of the steps for a while or having extras of some things that never got used. No need to be condescending and rude about a valid complaint. I’m not forced to buy my shampoo and conditioner as a set.

Hello, I am not a Rodan and fields consultant. I used the product as friends we’re going up the ladder with money and cars and sell you this thing of making big money. The key is being on a team to help you meet quota for time period to move up. The products work for some, others they don’t. Any skin care cost and no product works the same for all. I do think ppl should be more honest about how they are able to make money with the r f line. I had two family members who were consultants and notice I say were. If you have friends who have money who can help you meet your quota in your team due to fact you set up one main account and then a sort of dummy account to help yourself meet quota. To me this is not honest and def not honest when you are telling an unemployed looking for anything to help their family person how they can make money through selling the products.

I also in research and speaking with physicians that using products to lighten skin and retinal to help wrinkles can cause a lot of issues when one does abruptly stop products or how retinol can cause skin wrinkles to worsen before they actually start changing. Now from what physicians told me this is not always the case but it does happen. The hydroquinone products if abruptly stopped or miss days can cause your pigmentation to darken; therefore you need to wean down your use before stopping or changing. Most dermatologist tell you this when you start products. There will always be pro and cons for products due to nothing works for everyone.

I, personally use oils and natural skincare now and love it. I enjoyed r f products and did see results in some areas. None in others. I got all the exp gadgets and being honest my family purchased them as gifts. I think if a person feels compelled to try a product they should be allowed to try for 60 to 90 days before committing to auto renewal programs and the kicker is the company offers discount if you take auto renewal and most ppl these days have to be budgeted and jump on the band wagon. No product gives you results for true skin change overnight. There are no miracles in a jar. Only a plastic surgeon holds those miracles in a needle or knife. I know many will object to my comments and that is their right. R&f has its pros and it has its cons. It is not for everyone. Does their program need to be relooked at? Yes. Do their products need more details and take into consideration each person is unique and maybe offer different products for different age groups. Most r & f consultants I see are young and truly have no wrinkles. That is the issue in the skincare line for me; if you are promoting wrinkle eraser use people of age with wrinkles to research on. But this is just my opinion and does not make it gold words. Lol.

Use what works for you. Rodan and Fields is made by dermatologist. But if it’s so wonderful why do I have to be part of an elite group to purchase. Why can I not go to derm office and buy? Why do I have to have a consultant name or be assigned one in my area? These are all legit questions and statements. I think the Rodan and Fields designers, maker, founder whatever you choose to call it should really be more available to the customer with more details and honesty at the beginning of how they achieve these goals. Skincare is like any other some work, some don’t. Can you get those results from a less expensive product; probably? Retinol use also thins in short term use, long term thickens. I’m not bashing this company I am just saying be realistic when you step out there and give it a whirl. Plus if it works for you, that’s a bonus. Those it doesn’t work for, it is like anything from diets to clothing nothing works the same for all. We all have to find what works for our unique bodies. God bless

It’s posts like this that drive me crazy. 1) I tried it–hated it, had break outs like nothing I had ever had ever! And I was in my 40s. Visit to dermatologist, who like other licensed trained medical professionals told
Me to stop using immediately and that she sees more damage than good from these products. So in regards to the money back guarantee? Niece have I ever experienced such poor customer service. Took over 3 months for refund and numerous weekly calls by me to follow up on it. Even with me sending them a copy of the signed and received fedex recipt (can’t tell you how
Many times they said they didn’t recieve it! Frustrating!!

Also, one is not supporting a small business owner. Small business owners chose their products, their prices, their sales etc. R&F is not a small business!!! It has an entire Corp headquarters with HR, Legal, Marketing R&D etc. such an desperate plea to help a SBO…when you are not. Not are you your own boss. Does your upline train you? Get on you to sell more, recruit more? Do more? Sounds like a boss, huh?

And lastly hoe can one retire on approx a less than $40k a year or less income? Bc that’s what 97% of consultants make. Check the income disclosure. In additon, checks vary month to month, so nothing is steady. I too know Lexus drivers–and you know what their husbands say? Worst mistake ever. It’s not a free car, it’s in your name, your credit and your lease. You don’t make sales (which happens time to time) you have to pay the lease. One is currently on the brink of divorce bc of the deceptions that were discovered around tax time.

Same story here…I look worse now. My skin wasn’t that bad, but it needed a boost, like getting rid of the dullness and brown spots, so I ordered the Reverse regimen. I’ve only been using this for about a month. My skin wasn’t in the “sensitive” category either. Now my skin looks inflamed, blotchy, and dry. The red blotchy spots are even raised so it looks like I have ringworm infections on my face. Crazy! I hope this goes away soon. I’ve only been doing the one-time-a-day regimen, not even the full regimen.

Chris…I have been an esthetician for 27 years and really love the Rodan + Field’s products. Sometimes when dealing with sun damage like age spots it’s not uncommon for the spots to get darker before it get’s better. Because hyper-pigmentation is deep and as you are treating it with the reverse line…the damage that is deep is coming to the surface of the skin and will sometimes be darker than when you first started. Keep using and remember to use your sunscreen and the mineral peptides to protect your skin. Hope that helps!

I am so sorry that you have had this experience with the skincare line. As an consultant I would have you take the solution tools quiz. It is a quick 6 questions consult that the doctors created so they can tell you exactly what they think you need. I am not a dermatologist , so luckily they have this available for us and our customers to use. Also they have a nurse line that you can call anytime or the consultant can to get answers. Also other things play a factor. If you are using a regimen, make sure you are using all the steps. Also the first week they like you to ease into it but after that make sure you are using it everyday! I hope this helps. Also I would personally call corporate and tell them about your situation. I am surprised that they kept auto processing your account every 30 days when the accounts run on a 60 day auto processing and you can log in anytime to delay or cancel! one of my customers packaged got lost in the mail ( which rarely happens) and they expedited her a new order with no charge and sent her extra product! Try to give it another shot!

Shamim Sadiq – Just so you know all of our products come with a 60 day money back guarantee. It sounds like your consultant did not provide you with the customer service expected of all Rodan + Fields consultants. You also ALWAYS have the option to delay or cancel our autoship program. You can delay every month until you are ready for new product. No one is ever charged without first receiving an e-mail from R+F about their pending order (always 5 days in advance of charging you). Rodan + Fields also does a wonderful job training it’s consultants who never claim to be dermatologist. They have nurses on call in order to answer medical questions, and offer plenty of documents and clinical trial results to inform consultants. Of course all consultants are excited and possibly “aggressive” because we not only believe in these products but we also are small business owners who believe in the efficacy of what Kathy and Katie have offered to us as an amazing opportunity. I am so sorry you did not have a positive experience but be sure you have all of the information before commenting on the business structure.

The last time I went to get treated I was given an antibiotic which I had a serious reaction. I started to go blind. I was loosing my peripheral vision and was fortunate to live less 30 minutes from Will Eye Institute in Philadelphia. After stopping the medication my vision stabilized. However, I will forever question any medication it there rare side effects. Every medicine has those rare side effects and I am one forever marred by it. I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED and also scared that my skin is forever ruined by these terrible products. if anyone has had this happen to them, please let me know. i am so upset and praying that this is not permanent damage. i have not contacted customer service yet but plan on next week after the thanksgiving holiday commences.

The fact that I am a black Jamaican has a lot to do with it. I just wanted to make a good thing better……Now a few hundred dollar lighter in the pocket and dryer in my face, I’m not sure if I should go on any further.

    Hello Lisa
I am so sorry you feel you must bash people with skin issues that are trying methods of skin care that truly do work and are affordable. Many people cannot afford to go to the dermatologist frequently or see a plastic surgeon as you suggested as these methods are often times not covered as a medical necessity neither are the prescription medications. Rodan and Fields offer many people solutions to a plethora of skin care issues. If one is not happy with their R+F Consultant I would encourage them to find another one just as you would a physician or a yoga instructor etc. Keep in mind that R+F’s creators are in fact Dermatologists! Now that does not mean all skin care issues can be solved with their products alone – there certainly will be cases that you need to see your own doctor and we certainly do encourage that one would seek medical attention.
Maybe you should give R+F products a try they are absolutely AMAZING!!!

Crystal, the amount dispensed per use can be a valid complaint as I feel sometimes that’s how the corporations get you to buy more products before you’ve used up the old product. I don’t use R+F because I abhor MLM schemes and all the photoshopped Before&After FB posts are huge red flags to me, however, I have used various skin care lines and, depending on how the product is packaged, sometimes one portion of the “regimen” or set enables and encourages you to use more of the product than is necessary, thereby causing you to run out of it more quickly and requiring another purchase. Case in point, I use Neutrogena’s version of the Proactiv skincare set and they redesigned one of the bottles in a way that makes it difficult to control how much I dispense onto my hand per squeeze of the bottle. I have to be very careful not to squeeze too much out as I then run out of that lotion much more quickly than the other lotion and soap in the set, which results in an earlier trip back to Target to purchase another set that I otherwise would not have had to make.

Leah, these products do not clean you from the inside out. Only your diet can do that. Our skin is the largest organ in our body, and it is a big reflection of what you eat and your lifestyle. Lotions, creams, washes, etc only target the surface and your body WILL absorb a lot of those external toxins into your body. Just think of the hormone patches.
I did try R&F and had to return it because it is FULL of toxins! Chemicals that are harmful and NOT necessary for your body. I even tried the mildest SOOTHE face wash and it burned my face. I looked at the ingredients and was deeply disappointed that they had isostearyl alchohol in there!
I have to warn others to stay away from R&F

Personally, I have been approached by an R&F consultant who was trying to sell me, but I am older than her & my skin looks better. I use Serious Skincare from HSN. An amazing, very affordable line that delivers results….I have probably turned more people onto this line than their own salesforce!! If I could say one thing about R & F it’s this : OVERPRICED….
As are many of the Macy’s and other high end department store brands.
SSC works…..Their active ingredients far outweigh most of the high end products that retail for 4x the price. They are direct to customer, so no department store middle man = cheaper for you…..
R & F can afford to retire husbands, give away Lexus cars & send consultants to Hawaii because all of this is built into the pri$e tag.
R&F is not paying for that. Their customers are !! Very sad.
You do not have to spend a fortune on your skin to have it look good.
Just read & study about it. Watch the skincare shows on HSN when SSC airs. They will teach you how to properly use the line(s) & what conditions are helped by which products. For $695 dollars, ( the cost of the R&F mega starter kit), I could but 4 complete SSC kits with about 8 products in each line. It would be enough for a year !!!

And yes, I am a registered nurse. And yes, I know what I’m talking about. My friend no longer tried to sell me R & F because my skin is pretty flawless at 50. And I don’t need it !!!
Don’t waste any more money. Buy SSC. I do believe there is a 60 day return on all HSN purchases. And I have never had an issue in ten years of using this line.

    Good luck !!

One of the worst experiences I had with Rodan and Fields. emotionally/financially, and ofcourse horrible customer service, with no refund whatsoever. They kept auto processing my credit card after 30 days, and never got refunds the process was delayed. I tried all there products for almost a year as the consultant kept encouraging me to try other products, inspite of me telling her that they were not working.
They have hired layman as consultants who have no expertise about skin info, who make money selling these products, and will be aggressive to sell these products.
Since it’s a dermatological condition, don’t you think these dermatologists should keep a check list, instead of having people sell their products for money.

Often times our brown spots are like the tip of an iceberg. There is much more hyper pigmentation under the surface that needs to come out. Seeing it get worse before better is common as it is clearing from inside out. Its difficult but stick with the regimen and working through the damage as it clears is best. Myself included…I spent years creating the damage and it took several rounds before I cleared that damage with Reverse.

I have been using the R+F Reverse regimen for about 6 weeks to treat my melasma and sun damage and I am very happy with my results!! My skin looks better than it has in years since having my children, I use the Amp’d roller as well which I think make a huge difference. If you go through a consultant not only will you pay less, but you will have support for any questions you may have, access to all the product lines plus there is a 60-day money back guarantee which does not exist when purchased through Amazon. your pyramid scheme remark obviously coming From Such An Educated Person , Knowing The Definition of pyramid scheme. LMAO ( thats laughing my a– off) because a product being sold directly to a customer and the money going directly to the company and the consultant getting a monthly commission check as well as rewards such as trips and cars and jewelry is NOT A PYRAMID ! im sorry to push you off your soap box of stupidity but we dont appreciate false accusations being made about a company that strives to help YOU achieve beautiful younger , acne free, and brighter skin. your lack of knowledge of the product, probably due to the fact that the success of so many consultants leaves a bit of envy in your sites . Fact is there is NO PYRAMID, there is only satisfied, happy customers who have used R & F correctly and completed the full regimens. so before spouting out false information, please research because the happy people are the people with the common sense, you see they are not all twisted up in disbelief or jealousy or ignorance.

Skin issues can really ruin someone’s self esteem, their confidence and their life. Rodan+Fields was sold in department stores for several years and their genius business team choose to change it’s selling method to direct sales so they can reach more people. You do not become the second leading premium skin care brand in the country if your products do not work.
This is not a proper ranking of any products Rodan+Fields or others, as there is a professional relationship with Advanced Dermatology. I’m sorry for all of you uneducated reviewers that felt this was a good place to bad mouth 2 world renowned dermatologist K. Rodan and K. Fields. These women didn’t just create ProActiv they changed the way acne was treated for the world. Before their development there was NO topical treatment for acne. What this means is, that when your doctor prescribes you something for your skin it’s because it was research and developed by Rodan+Fields.

Who are you to down play what someone else deems worthy of a complaint? I can see where the concern comes from in regards to running out as much as I can understand that it can easily run out at different times. The fact still remains that you’re paying for a rather expensive skin care regimen that you’re expected to keep consistent throughout the month and one products runs out way before another and now you have to wait to reorder. It’s a simple inconvenience that because a big deal with the hefty price tag. No one cares about running out of conditioner, because you can simply go buy more at the salon or store.

To me, the over protective nature of users and petal pushing salesman are the reason I will not be using this product. I have been unable to receive any unbiased professional reviews from any website that I have visited, and there seems to be a growing trend in the caliber of staff and some users. There biggest concern is to petal and not give honest advice, and the consumers usually end up consultants or helping a friend ergo just as biased.

Apparently if you truly want to know anything about this product, you need to be wondering why dermatologists aren’t selling it or recommending readily in their office…

It is sold direct from Rodan and Fields, the company, to the customer, not multi level. Same as you would if you had an account with Macy’s and ordered on line. Thats direct on line shopping.
They used to be in high end department stores Barneys, Bendels, Nordstroms, Saks and realized the customers that bought their products came because they were referred by happy customers. Not because the department store did anything to promote them. So they pulled out and decided to go direct. Instead of paying rent they pay consultants a generous commission for referring business to them and selling their products.
The breakdown of a skincare system is about $100. Per month at retail price. They are designed to last 60 days. Very reasonable. If you become a preferred customer it is even less, with 10% off and free shipping.

I signed up as a consultant to get a better price on all of the products. I have brown age spots mainly on my forehead and was hopeful it would help. I took pics before I started and used reverse and redefine along with the roller and macro exfoliator. The tone and color of my skin got better after 60 days but my brown spots on my forehead got more prominant and darker and bigger along with more brown spots on other parts of my face. I called R & F and they suggested I use the reverse accelerator so i did. Now after 60 days of the reverse accelerator too my forehead is even darker yet with brown spots and it got bigger for the area too and it looks horrible. It’s worse than ever. I want it to work so now what?

I’m always insulted when I have to debate skincare with people who have no knowledge of the skin’s anatomy, no education and no license.

They are experts in nothing more than haunting people. Hounding and pressuring them into purchasing products.

I’m a licensed medical Aesthetician. I know what works. I know why. I am educated, licensed, and had to pass a board exam. I know that products that “smell nice” have added fragrance which is unnecessary and a skin irritant. I know if the products make your skin good, they are probably laden with dimethecone and petroleum. So save your cash and rub some Vaseline on your face.

I agree with a previous poster. The most effective tools for anti aging are vitamins a, c and even and a medical grade sunscreen.

For vitamin A, why would you use a cheap knock off from R&F, when you can obtain a prescription for Refissa, which is Trevino in 0.05% and is the ONLY FDA approved anti aging cream?

Why would you use R&F toner with a miniscule amount of hydroquinone in it, when you can get the recommended prescription strength dose of 4% hydroquinone from your doctor?

It is a proven fact that the only skin care products that can effect true change in the skin are ones that can penetrate to the dermis. So why would you waste your money on overpriced underachieving products that you get from a glorified Avon Lady, driving a Lexus?

Don’t waste your time or money. Visit a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Don’t trust your skin to the brainwashed pyramid scheme Tupperware lady.

The way I see it is…if it works on your skin — fine but I’m sick of these R+F consultants constantly trying to come off as Skin Experts when they have not obtained the education…if you are a L.E. and sell it…fine, at least you know what you are talking about. But if you haven’t and you keep posting these asinine photoshopped pics and copy paste the exact same posts in FB groups claiming “these are TRUE statements”! AND at the same time talking about financial freedom….look which is it? You trying to help people or make money off them by “building a team” or “gaining a business partner” puleese! Get out my face with that. I’ve had clients come to me with their skin all messed up and I asked what they use and the answer R+F. Again…if you like the products and it works for you and you are NOT a consultant cool. But if you are a consultant don’t try to pass yourself as being a skin expert who can answer skin questions and tell them what they NEED for their skin. How about invest in the proper education that many of us licensed professionals have done AND then come back and talk to me…I “may” listen.

I do not work for Rodan and Fields – however, my wife loves their products. After bad reaction to some make-up she broke out for months trying different products that didn’t work. We spent over $800 on he advice of her dermatologist trying to figure it out. A friend introduced her to RF and her face is now totally cleared up after 3 months of use.

4 years ago I had surgery that required the Surgeon to open me up from sternum to midline – had over 50 stitches and 15 staples that left me with a scar that was constantly irritated and bright red. My wife bought their soothe sensitive skin cream and the amp md roller and serum for me to try and in a month and half my scar is my actual skin color and it is no longer raised and irritates. To be honest unless you’re really looking you wouldn’t even notice it.

I have read some of these comments and the review above – RF products may not work for everyone but for my wife and I, who both have sensitive skin, this has changed things for us for the better. Yep it cost me $200 all in but it was so worth it! And stopped spending hundreds of dollars on dermatologist recommended products that didn’t work. I no longer deal with pain and inflammation of my scar on my waistline. I would recommend RF to anyone.

I love Rodan + Fields. It took me two years of thinking about it to give it a try and I saw dramatic results within the first three weeks using Reverse. I have continued to use the products now for 7 months and am constantly being asked about my skin. And the AMP roller is amazing. The more products I tried, the more I loved it. As an almost-50-year old mom of five, it has been a confidence booster for sure. And honestly, I became a consultant for the discount and then after seeing how much I loved it and what it did for me, I now love helping my friends. I wouldn’t do it if they didn’t have the 60 day 100% empty bottle guarantee. If you don’t love it, just send it back. No hassle. Easy peasy.

Rodan and Fields is not for me. While I really like the way it cleans, I have seen no results / worsening imperfections. Ugh. I won’t be returning the product as I would like to hang on to the little gadgets that come with it for a hefty price tag. I will use these with my tried and true products to see if I get better results. At least I am washing my face twice a day and will probably get the same/better results from that alone.

I worked for a dermatologist for 4 years and we have never recommended Rodan and Fields. In fact, a lot of “tools” R+F recommend can actually aggravate skin conditions and acne. Cosmetic products vary and some see results with certain products and ingredients, but acne and skin conditions such as rosacea, if serious enough, need to be treated with prescription medications. Most of the time there are underlying factors with acne such as elevated hormones. And with rosacea there is something called demodex. It’s just hard to see people paying $100+ for a benzoyl peroxide based product for acne that can be purchased at Walgreens for $8. As for the reverse regimen, these are skin care products that are recommended in several brands. Most use hydroquinone for a period of time, because it is not recommended for long term use, then continue with other products that are long term and not so agressive. Retinol is recommended to use nightly at any dermatology office for cosmetic reasons. You’ll just pay a lot more for it with R+F. One may use any product he/she prefers, but for clinical skin conditions, I would consult a dermatologist before purchasing. Preferably one that isn’t trying to make tons of money off of mediocre products.

The R + F products are purchased on line. They have a 60 day return policy. Just call the company and return if not fully satisfied. You do not need to go through your consultant to return. You are not bombarded to buy more. If you are a preferred customer, you receive 10% off with free shipping every two months. You receive an e-mail prior to the shipment to allow for changes or cancellations.

I have been investigating these products from Rodan and Fields because a friend recently became a consultant. I am a licensed esthetician and obviously what is in the product matters a great deal to me. Professional reviews play a big part because they break down the ingredients and collect customer reviews.
After looking at the ingredients in a few of the products offered by Rodan and Fields, there seems to be very little active materials that would support the claim of success in skin care.
In truth, most products will work for everyone as they contain similar ingredients. To have so many issues with damaged skin and poor reactions is rare. Occasionally, individuals will have a bad reaction to a product but usually associated with an allergy to a specific ingredient. Reactions to R+F at this level are way to common to be “normal”.
I must say I am disappointed that consultants would write reviews about their own products on a customer review feedback site. That is very inappropriate. In order to truly rate a product based on customer reviews, the reviewers should have no financial stake in the success of the product.
These products have at best a 50-50 chance of working for you based on all reviews. Not very good odds in my opinion.
Dermatologist and skin care experts will be honest with you regarding any product. Always ask your skin care expert what they think about a product you are considering investing in using. Rodan and Fields consultants are NOT licensed or trained skin care experts. The ARE salesman. So keep that in mind when considering purchasing a product or getting into the business. This is also true of your everyday sales person at the department store.
In summary…….consult the true professionals before using anything on your skin. Just like with your inner body, your skin can become addicted to certain ingredients and will not recover after you discontinue use and can therefore change your skin and make it worse.

“Many of them happen to be Doctors, Nurses, licensed Estheticians, etc.” Yeah, or unemployed housewives. Turns out I know a few consultants, so try again. And I’ll be honest, I’ve known a couple of these women for over 6 years and they haven’t ever had problem skin. They are under 40. So I’m sure my skepticism can be forgiven when I doubt what these genetically blessed non-professionals have to tell me about your underwhelmingly rated products.

Just because you aren’t licensed in something doesn’t mean you are qualified to do the work.

Ladies, please don’t fall for this pyramid-scheme nonsense no matter how many of your FB friends are pimping it this week. You deserve to feel like you look your best. Do your research, ask women who have problem skin and have had to try a lot of products because they can give really great feedback even if they aren’t done with their search yet. Remember, you deserve the best.

Technically no one is forced to enroll in the replenishment program, it’s just a convenient option to save 10% and free shipping. You have the option of paying retail price on your own terms. Luckily, you DO get a reminder email from corporate (and usually the consultant) of your upcoming order so you should have no problem remembering.

If Olay and Vaseline do the trick for you then more props to you. Unfortunately, there are many people struggling from acne or other issues not well treated by those. And I’d love to see before & after pictures of those products effectively working to reverse dark spots or wrinkles.

To each their own! Just keep an open mind because some don’t give it the recommended trial time.

Every patient I’ve had that has used R+F has had terrible skin. The quality of those products are not going to have lasting results for people. Quality skin care products are sold by licensed professionals. R+F cannot legally sell the strength of ingredients needed to cause long term changes in the skin. Not to mention that the products literally just sit on the face and do not penetrate the skin.

My friend Rita became an Rodan and Fields consultant and wanted me to try the products. Of course, being a friend, I agreed to become one of her first customers. I typically do not like things that “auto renew”, and that is actually why I did not give it 5 stars. I have a tendency to forget and a charge shows up! That said, I started using the Redefine Regimen and it is AMAZING! The scent of the product is wonderful and it makes your face feel so refreshed. I did what they suggested and took a beginning picture and a pic after 60 and 90 days. What a difference! The BEST product however is not in an actual regimen. It is the eye cream. I had read it may be the best in the biz and I believe it. All of my tiny lines around my eyes are gone. Took about 2 months. As for it being “pricey”, just think about it . You are getting four products in the regimen – that is about $40 a product. Have you priced other skin care? There really is not that much of a difference. So in a nutshell – to be honest, the negatives of the product are having to buy from a consultant or friend, therefore being “pressured’, auto renewal to get the best deals, and price. Positives are simple – it REALLY does wonders! Take from it what you will.

I have in issue with the way this product is sold. I’ve been using the Reverse program for three months. I do like the scent and it has reduced my sun spots. It comes with a set of Vit C and Retinol that is supposed to be used together in pearl-sized amounts. They never come out equal, which becomes a quandary when reordering. Purchasing through a friend provides uncomfortable pressure, especially if there are problems or if one wishes to stop purchasing it. The cost is prohibitive, since if used properly the product needs to be used every month. One can get more lasting results by Fraxel Rx, which would end up being less expensive. It takes a very long time to get credit for a returned product (I tried the Redefine and it was too irritating) plus they seem to make mistakes on the orders and it’s almost impossible to get that rectified. If the product were available locally and easier to return if a problem….and less expensive, I would consider using it…I just cancelled my membership and will loo for other choices.

"They have NO business giving you 'skin care advice'" <– How much are you really aware of the consultants? Many of them happen to be Doctors, Nurses, licensed Estheticians, etc. who HAPPEN to research, learn and study so that they have the product knowledge and understanding of how the chemicals SO that they may be able to give out skin care advice. For those consultants who do not have a background in healthcare or skincare, those people are doing the same thing as the ones who have the background. They are educating themselves on the products, how they work, to to make them work effectively and IF they run into an issue where they don't know the answer to the question, there are REAL LIVE NURSES who are available for those consultants to connect with.

Of course there were negative reviews (nothing works for everybody) and yes, it is a luxury item and is expensive. I ordered the soothe kit because my 2 year old son has had a horrible eczema flare up for months. Nothing was working. It was mentioned that the soothe cream helps with eczema so I bought it. I’ve been using it for 2 days and already see a huge difference in his skin. I also use the kit on myself. I don’t have sensitive skin, so I’m not seeing much difference, but I can definitely feel it. My skin is softer. Makes me very excited to get the kit that I need, which would be redefine, but my kids come first. Definitely worth trying.

So does a tower, a staircase, five-layer dessert… Everything has levels, that doesn’t make it a pyramid. The reason they are contacting you is because the more people they get to sign-up the more money they make. They don’t even have to sell the products or sign consultants to get paid but their check does, of course, increase by how many people they can sign as consultants and/or how much they sell. A pyramid scheme doesn’t pay you regardless of effort.

Thank you for your honest reply Mike. I was leary at first and did my homework – but after trying the products and reading exciting things about the company I decided to broaden my horizons on my terms and because a Consultant. R+F was founded by world-renowned dermatologists who have qualified nurses on staff that are qualified to help. That being said this company not only helps people with skin issues but it also changes lives. You know that saying – you get what you pay for? Who else offers a 60-day money back guarantee for their products? Everyone washes their face and everyone wants to have a youthful appearance and many people are looking for a Plan B because Plan A isn’t working out. If you want to connect with people to change their skin as well as their lives, why not join us?

Karen, I will be honest with you that I am FINALLY a CONSULTANT since last week. Finally, finally I found a product that I can recommend without hesitation and worry for embarrassment. I started using Rodan and Fields in 2012 when a friend of mine suggested it to me. Nope, I don’t easily believe and mostly not gonna recommend something I never tried or proven to be good.

But since I used Rodan and Fields I never had skin problem. I’m 39 and never a single fine line for the fact that I only use it every other day. Yeah, it’s that good.

We have to remember that every single person is unique with unique skin and unique PH. If the product didn’t work out well on some people because it doesn’t suit their skin type or didn’t follow instruction on proper application.

Before using it, we recommend that you consult your doctor first and if ingredients can harm your skin.

If you’re ready to use it make sure and it is recommended to use it “twice only” on the first week, then three times the next week, then more often the. Following week. This way your skin will slowly adapt to changes and ingredients the products has. If it still doesn’t work for even fare all recommended way on using it, just return the product within 60 days for full money back guarantee (except shipping) even if the bottles are empty.

I truly was hoping that the R+F products would work for me. After all the money I spent, I can actually say that my skin looks worse than it did before. I kept thinking that I might need to use it until they are empty before I see results, but the results never came. Around my chin I have zits on each side, and i didn’t see any improvement in my wrinkles.

The reason your “derm” doesn’t like it is because it’s not expensive enough (Obaji) and she doesn’t sell it in her office….or maybe she’s just not smart enough to have developed something so effective!

I wished people would get off the, “Most of the positive comments are from consultants”! Have these people ever thought that these Rodan and Fields consultants use the products because they work and they love them like anyone else who uses the products who aren’t consultants! I use the products and love them and they work! My daughter in law uses the products and is a consultant and her skin has changed for the better! Yes, it’s a bit pricey but I’ve spent the same amount on other skin care products in the past. It’s worth it to me (my opinion).

  • Mike Original review: Jan 27, 2015. Reply

So someone said most of the positive Rodan and Fields reviews are “from reps” Well, that kinda makes sense, since most people that try the product become reps. If not for a business opportunity, than to be able to afford to use the product regularly. It’s not cheap. I won’t lie my wife is a rep. But here is my opinion. If you believe it to be biased, so be it. Since I’m not promoting my wife directly I don’t see how lying about liking the product benefits her. I’m a 49 year old guy. I’ve always been a high maintenance type i.e regular haircuts every other week, clean shaven everyday, clothes always pressed not matter what the occasion, and was taught by my dad at an early age the importance of moisturizing regularly. I also have benefited from good “aging genes” half Asian, half American Indian. So I’ve aged rather well anyway. But I’ve noticed definite signs of aging in the last few years. Not really wrinkles or lines, anymore so than I would expect at my age. But skin has been drier despite my regular moisturizing routines, and kinda of blotchy around the jaw line. Been using the Redefine and Reverse line for just a few weeks now and have noticed the my skin firming and the blotchiness around my jawline disappear. I don’t know how much improvement will happen over time, but so far so good. Is it cheap? NO. Is it worth it? Well it is a luxury item, so it’s value depends on what it’s worth to the individual. While the price tag is on the higher end, it’s also not outrageous for higher end vanity products. I did get some dry, red, flaking around the nose (an area that has always been sensitive for me) for the first few days. That went away after my skin adjusted to it. Hope this helps.

  • Raquel Rabb Original review: Jan 22, 2015. Reply

I am not a consultant, I am a 25 year old professional that has done her research prior to selecting a skincare routine that will actually help my skin as I age. I am not paid to promote or sell the product, I use it and love it! I have had amazing results with it! I would recommend it to anyone that wants great, glowing skin. However, for you to bash a product and the consultants that sell it sounds to me like you are either a rep that couldn’t make in the business or a consultant for a second hand line.

  • Karen Original review: Jan 16, 2015. Reply

FYI, most of the positive comments on here about R and F are from consultants. They will say they are not consultants, but they are.

  • Kari Original review: Jan 15, 2015. Reply

I visited a friend in another state and was impressed with how her skin had improved. I tried the product and even after three days was impressed. More so because I was using what was considered tops in the face care but this far surpassed what I was using. After returning home I continued with my products but it was on the back of my mind. I have just now hit the eighth day of the regiment. I have not mentioned it to one person just to see if anyone noticed anything different. I have had three people in the last two days let me know that there has been a definite improvement on some issues of my face and commented on it. I am taking the pictures and there is already. For me I will continue to see if I am as please and if I am I will become an consultant. I know it is expensive and I may not like some of the ways they do business. But if there is a huge improvement on my face and I am starting on my mothers next week then I would be happy to bring this product to others. I know I feel better inside when I look my best. I believe others are the same. For those that cut this product down I want you to know I would be more respectful of your comments if they sounded a bit more lady like. It is hard to respect a comment from anyone when you are bashing someone in goon fashion. Two doctors developed this product and maybe before being so unkind you would learn more. And if the cost is to high then write the company kindly and voice your opinion. You would be better heard. And to all..good nite…and may tomorrow be amazing day for all!

I am a 40 something guy who started using the Rodan and Fields Redefine four months ago. I woke up one day and looked in the mirror and wondered what happened to my face. I go to the gym every day to stay in shape, but I looked rough. I was pretty sure it happened overnight, but my wife assured me that old age had been doing its damage for a while. Quietly, I searched around, because no meat eating man will admit to looking for an anti-aging products! Sure enough, one of my friends’ wife’s sisters cousins sold this, so I bought the big pack with all the tools, toys, and crap that took over the counter top in the bathroom. I convinced my wife to try it with me…so I could explain that it was all hers, and she forced me to try it.

I travel for work, and I dissapeared for 30 days. When I got back, my secretary ( can I still use that term?) noticed right away. I got home and I saw it work on my wife.

Listen, it worked for us, and I don’t sell it. I have sent folks to the R&F webpage though. If you are looking for an anti/de-aging regimen, R&F worked awesome for us. I don’t understand all the hate here. It blows my mind. If you don’t like something and post up ridiculous hate stuff, you look stupid. Be positive, if you like something else, let us know about it, but you don’t have to bag on something that has really taken 10 years off my face.

I bought the reverse regime from a friend who was a consultant. I saw her social media info and saw the amp roller on the today show. I love the products. They feel luxurious and have worked great on my skin. I’ve been using reverse since November 2014. I just got the roller and redefine cream. The cream goes great under makeup because it doesn’t crease. I’m not a consultant. I was never pushed to buy anything from my friend. I actually reached out directly to her because I was interested in the products and could only find them on amazon. They are higher quality and they are more expensive than otc stuff. I feel like it was a good investment in myself. I won’t do the consulting bit. I wish it was easier to purchase items witour having to call a consultant to set up an account. But I’m hooked on the products for sure despite the extra effort to order.

I recently tried using the Reverse Regimen for sun damage on my skin and I am already seeing a big difference! My skin is much smoother, brighter, and my dark marks are beginning to fade! I highly recommend this regimen if you have sun damage. I also wanted to mention, that someone said earlier that they thought that a friend of their was just trying to make money off of them. Well, I don’t know about you but I would much rather support a person that I know, especially a friend, than a face-less corporation. The consultant that I know is running her business to put food on the table for her children. I am sure that many other consultants are in business for the same reasons. Plus, I don’t mind spending the money because the products actually work!

I am not a R and F consultant. I actually sought someone out to try the product. I wanted to start with the UNBLEMISH. Now, I will say I DO like the product. I am liking it more and more…however, it did make my face way worse than before, but it is finally getting better, after about 6-8 weeks. It is pulling all of the yuk out. I have stuck with it and I am glad I did. I am seeing so much improvement and I know I wont have all the nastiness under my skin. Also, in response to all these comments, there are OPTIONS on the market for the simple fact not everything works for everyone. I have never tore someone apart and downgraded them because they used Clean and Clear rather than Neutrogena, or Revlon instead of MAC. I love hearing success stories, please keep them coming. For the people that don’t care for the product, I hope you find what works and please feel free to share if you come across anything that us ladies might want to check out!

I too was contacted by a friend to try R+F products. At first I thought she was just trying to make money off of me but after I tried the products I completely fell in love them! I felt so bad for thinking so negatively about my friend. I even wondered what kind of a person I have turned out to be that I have no trust for anyone including my friends! Anyway, I ended up buying the redefine regimen and I absolutely love it! My skin is so pretty now that I wear way less make-up than I have in years! I highly recommend that you give R+F a try for yourself. Like the others have said, if you don’t like it send it back within 60 days and get your money back. I don’t know of any derm or dept store that offers that kind of guarantee.

Hello there, from what you are saying, I don’t think you have the correct regimen. I agree you definately should be seeing improvement not getting worse after a couple weeks of use. Have you contacted your consultant? I realize this post is a few months old but I’d like to help if I could….it sounds like you may have started out on the Redefine along with the Macro-E or Amp-MD roller? I would stop the use of any tool completely, contact your consultant and if you loved Arbonne, sounds to me as if she/he sold you the wrong Regi for your skin! You, just from reading your post, would likely LOVE the Soothe Regimen and not the Redefine. Plus NO tools! Hope to help….

I also tried the eye cream which has proven after on month, shows a different in the fine lines. No the lines don’t go away, soften the look, lines are not as deep.
The lip cream helps , I use it at night.
If you don’t like the product, don’t buy it. Again I am not a salesperson for this product. I recently bought other products. No pressure from anyone.

Under pressure from a friend, I attended her R & F party where I caved and bought over $500 worth of products. I was told they had a no hassle return policy so I thought I would give it a try. Needless to say I returned everything. After almost 90 days of getting the run around from the sales consultant, some terse messages to her and me calling R&F myself, my refund is FINALLY being processed. This is not what I call a no hassle return policy.

Started using Rodan & Fields a while back and I saw such a massive improvement in my skin after just 1 week!!!! I was a diehard Olay user until I read about R&F in Allure so I decided to try! Seems expensive until I started thinking about how much I actually spend on Olay! I used 4 Olay Products and am actually saving money by using R&F and am seeing such better results!! I loved it and the people so much that I decided 2 weeks ago to join the team! The outreach, friendships, support and money I’m already making is nothing short of amazing!! I see people talking bad about consultants on here and keep asking for users opinions, well, that’s the whole point…. Most all Consultants were and are users who fell in love with the product then fell in love with the company! It’s insane to call it a scheme and borderline hilarious!! I’m pretty sure people who were once R&F Consultants who are now bashing it, just didn’t have the drive and motivation it truly takes to be successful running their own business and I’m sorry for that…. Everyone isn’t cut out to be a leader, a doer, a success! If they were the world would be a much better place! No one will be 100% happy 100% of the time! I just ask that none of you please go off the opinions of others, not even mine if you don’t want, find out for yourself! I promise, if you are a doer and you want way more out of your life, then you definitely need to look into this company! I’ve been a passionate Fashion & Beauty Blogger for over 6 years, so if they won me over.. They truly are amazing! Answer your own questions and find out for yourself! Oh and YES my deep wrinkles have almost completely disappeared!! It works, it truly, truly does! God Bless all of YOU!!

The bashing in these comments is ridiculous! No product is right for everyone. I have tried multiple product lines that are more than twice the price ($500+) of Rodan + Fields regimens. I saw great results with some and not so great results with others. I have seen great results with the R+F regimens that I have used. Yes, I am a consultant. I continue to be a consultant because I use many of the products and I absolutely love them. If I had to go one day without the redefine eye cream I would go crazy. These products are clinically proven. This is not a scam. Users also have to remember, with most all regimens (no matter the company), your skin needs time to adjust to the product. Again, this is not a scam. This is not a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme does not involve the exchange of product, only a financial exchange. I enjoy being a part of this business. I am not pushy. I do not fool friends and family into buying the product. I sell the products because I believe in them. I believe in the business. If my customers do not see the results they expect, I help them return the product. As a consultant, I get the benefit of great skin AND I get to make additional income while I do it. I don’t see what the problem is…..

I don’t normally respond to comments such as these, but some of these comments have been taken a little too far. If you do not have a good experience with the products you are using, then simply stop, return them for a full refund, and go back to your ponds cold creme (which I love by the way)! Put your time and energy into something a little more productive. Negativity will get you no where!

Based on reading this review and other reviews, and this article, I have to say that this is all VERY biased. I am a personal, happy user of these products, and have been for some time. I don’t think they are a scam at all and I find their prices to be very reasonable (actually pretty darn close to Clinique prices and I like R+F better). In the past I went to the dermatologist for many different type of treatments for ance/post acne, and quite honestly, that is where I spent WAY too much money and wasn’t too pleased with the results besides the fact I had to make an appointment, schedule childcare, and go/wait, get the consult and then pay $40 just for that on top of whatever treatment they suggested that had no money back guarantee I might add. I actually have dermatologist friends that recommend us and the only reason I can really think why another dermatologist might not want to is because they might possibly lose clients to R+F?

I’ve tried several products and felt them to be no better than over the counter… I have been haunted by people to sell this crap but I can’t sell something I don’t believe works. They have no real intellectual property and don’t seem to believe in it which should tell you all you need to know! If they had IP, it might support the high prices they charge… If it’s soooo great, why doesn’t my dermatologist recommend it??? Because it’s truly marketing bs:( Game changing technology has intellectual property around it… these guys don’t have that so it’s just another version of the stuff already on the market with an Amway model (which made the founding family billions) … sad, because I would love to see some real breakthrus vs hype and bs:( For the record, I would never rep this product and have never represented this product. I was pressured by a “friend” and gave several products a shot and it was a massive waste of money and time. If it’s good, and you have a great dermatologist, they would support it… I have a great derm and know several others and NONE of them think it’s worth a nickel.

I am NOT a Rodan and Fields consultant, nor do I have any agenda for promoting this product. I started using the Define line for aging skin about 60 days ago when a family member started to sell it. I am 50 years old and overall, I am happy and have seen a dramatic improvement in the clarity of my skin. I took the before and after photos, and some of my smile lines have been reduced, and my face is brighter and I think I look better with and without make-up. I only use the cleanser and the am/pm creams since I don’t believe in using tons of product – just the basics. I do think its very pricey and I am not sure if I will continue to use it forever – but for now I am happy. However, I agree with several other reviewers that the “replenishing” agreement feels like a scam, and makes you feel like you are being forced to continue to purchase produce. My consultant should be able to get credit for selling me product without me being forced into the replenishing program. For the consumer, it’s a huge turn-off. I am sure they have lost tons of business because of this, even if people think the product is wonderful. I think if this were eliminated, both the consultants and the company would sell way more product.

God this product is AWFUL!!! I ordered some because a friend of mine was selling it. The sales people raved about the regime and how wonderful it was, yada, yada. I even got a sample of the microderm paste.

Well, first the price is so damned outrageous that I could buy a new car and make monthly payments for what they are charging. They do not like for people to order stuff when they need it so you are forced to get on this system where they send you more expensive crap every 2 months. You can delay the order, but who has time to remember that??

The product itself. I think people would do better to go to the local drugstore and get a jar of Ponds or some Oil of Olay which women have been using for years! Better yet, get some Noxema and Vaseline! The paste wreaked such havock on my skin that I feel (and look) like someone poured acid on my face. This stuff is terrible!!1

Save the money and avoid this product like the plague!

I have had pretty much continuous breakouts since at least March. I began using UNBLEMISH 3 weeks ago. I am so thrilled because my face has not had any new breakouts since I started the regimen. Even some of my scars from where I picked are disappearing. I am looking forward to beginning the REVERSE regimen. For those that have not had any luck with their regimen, I would suggest talking to the consultant you bought it from. I am sure they could give you suggestions for other things you can do to help the regimen do what you are wanting it to do. I think most consultants started out using the products and loved them that they just wanted to share them with others. I am so happy I started using these products. They really aren’t any more expensive than other higher end products out on the market. Don’t give up without talking to your consultant!

So I thought the Rodan and Fields sales person I met had glowing skin her statements seemed honest and I am giving this a whirl. So far I think I have been scammed. I am not giving up. I bought the regime plus the tool to exfoliate. I honestly believe I have more lines now than before I started. Is this possible? I have read all the directions, instructions and backed off from the mask/wash for an entire week (The tool as well). So far I like the night time capsules a little. However I think I’ll be stopping the auto ship and searching the high end department stores for a new regime. I did love Arbonne but we’ll see. I have not lost all hope giving this another straight week of directions. For the amount of money spent I would expect a moderate change (slight) not for the worse.

I am a Rodan + Fields Skincare consultant and I absolutely love the products. These products have changed my skin and changed my life!!! For the first time in my life I feel that my skin is clean– really clean. I use the Redefine Regimen which includes a mask, followed by a toner and then SPF day cream moisturizer and then at night I do the same routine and finish with a nighttime moisturizer. But what I also love is that I get to use the Macroexfoliator that literally lifts thousands of dead skin cells from my face– I use this once a week. Then at night I use the Amp Roller followed by night renewing lotion that literally allows my skin to regenerate new blood cells in my face. The lotion has Retinol, which just makes my skin glow. I am living proof that Rodan + Fields Skincare works!!! I am almost 64 years old and most people have told me that I don’t even look 50!! So contact me if you want great results. The lines in my forehead and the tiny crow’s feet by my eyes have literally vanished. My skin is smooth and my pores are shrinking!!!! I can send you pics of me to show you how well these products!!!

Another consultant suggested I must have sensitive skin. I do not. Again, these folks are NOT skin care experts. Please visit an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon for a professional experience with true medical grade products.
And for those who are suggesting this is a scam/pyramid scheme, it is not. The business model is called Multi-level marketing and it is a legitimate business. However, the doctors at the top of this business model are not the ones examining/treating you. If you want the best care for your skin, visit a real professional.

  • Former Consultant Original review: Aug 19, 2014. Reply

I’m a former Rodan and Fields consultant who started with the company when it was fairly new. I really wanted to believe in the product. I found I was highly allergic to something in the ReVerse line. My skin responded as though I had a severe sunburn. I was unable to be outside for weeks, even while wearing a hat and after discontinuing usage. Driving a car was miserable, because of the heat from the sun.
I called Nurse Mary, the “go to” resource within the R & F company to discuss. She suggested I space out my usage to every 3rd day until my skin became accustomed to the product. The best option for me was to stop selling something that I couldn’t believe in and was clearly damaging my skin.
The consultants ARE NOT skin care specialists. The products do not contain the same level of medication that you would receive from going to a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. I suggest going to see someone with the education, experience and knowledge behind them.

I’ve been using R&F unblemish system for 2 months now and i’m so disappointed. This system is overly priced FOR NO REASON, you’re better off using proactiv if you’re considering buying this because I’ve used them both and they practically gave me the same results which weren’t good. If it wasn’t too late to return the product i would do it in a heartbeat. I have yet to see my face clear, if one part of my face starts to clear, another part of my face will break out. In my experience i would say don’t waste your money because i’m sure there are other effective acne products out there that are a lot cheaper.

  • Cindy Original review: Jul 26, 2014. Reply

Corinne, please email the R+F nurses or your direct consultant who can contact the R+F nurses for you. It has never made me break out, but we all have different skin. You may need to tweak your regimen…..like you would a prescription sometimes.

I am so sorry you have been bombarded with business. I started using these products and was so happy with my results after using different products over the years. I guess it is like anything else, you may get people who look to sell just to sell. For me, IT IS TRULY about helping others. I love meeting people and building friendships. I was in the mortgage business for many years and I loved helping people achieve there dreams of owning their own home. I was determined to never give up until my clients were able to receive the loan and terms that worked for them. If I couldn’t do it I would find the right place for them.
So Shannon, if you simply want to try these amazing products and see if they work for you I would love to help you (not for me although it would help me), to truly help you. Contact me through my website (call or email) and I will have a special offer for you if you would like work with someone who does work to help you. I look forward to meeting you.

You are correct! I made the mistake of signing on with R+F a couple months ago and being suckered into purchasing the $995 business kit + the $24.95/month website/marketing tools website + signing up for their “consultant replenishment plan” which costs a minimum order of $100/month on your debit or credit card. I wanted to sell the products because I honestly liked the products, they are that good. However, after signing up, the company made it extremely clear that it was all about making money by getting people to sign up underneath you as quickly as possible. You don’t make money on product sales unless the customer orders are $100 or more. They (sponsors) tell you to push people, not push product. They “encourage” you to always keep your minimum consultant order at $100/month and you are not supposed to use any other marketing materials (business cards, table covers, posters, etc) but theirs and you purchase these over priced items directly from them. Also, if you attend any of their training sessions, you have to pay to go. Don’t do it. Period.

I’m so surprised and sorry to hear that you’ve had a problem with Rodan + Fields. I had to return a product once in the year I’ve been representing the brand, and it was picked up immediately and replaced. I make sure my customers get great service, and hate to hear that you did not get the service you deserve. The customer service is excellent with Rodan + Fields if you purchase from a Consultant. The Consultant would make sure you were using the proper regimen for your specific skin concerns, and could take care of any problems that you might have. Our company is growing, and we want our customers to be completely satisfied. My skin has shown great results, and it keeps improving as I continue to use the products. I hope you’ll give Rodan + Fields another try, find a great Consultant in your area to work with and give you great service, and your experience will be different.

Did you ever get connected with someone to answer your questions? It is hard to tell on this site if you had your questions answered. 🙂 Just to let you know, We do NOT have to keep an inventory, we do NOT have to do parties! The product and reputation of the company and doctors really does it all. As a consultant, you will need to purchase a small amount of product each month, but that can be for your own personal use (you are a walking billboard) or you can turn around and sell that product. There is a wealth of information and support of all kinds in the Rodan and Fields family.
If you don’t connect with me, make sure and connect with someone, because this is an amazing opportunity to get in at the ground level on 🙂
    Blessings!!!

Joined as a consultant about a month ago and it is amazing. These products really work awesome. I m very low maintenance where I usually used soap and water. Now I can’t get enough of the products. I have noticed huge differences in my skin. I love the way I look and how my skin feels. My kids have had really bad acne and have tried everything. They have had dramatic results with the Unblemish regimen. I mean unbelievable. These products work wonders and I can verify from personal experience and personal witness that they do work and are absolutely the best out there. Step 2 is the Intensive Brightening Toner and now contains: Butylene Glycol, Kojic Acid, Citric Acid etc. Step 3 is the Dual Active Brightening Complex with a Vitamin C based formula and a Retinol based formula that you mix together prior to application. The older REVERSE Steps 2 and 3 are still available as the REVERSE Skin Lightening Accelerator Pack. It contains the Old Step 2: Skin Lightening Toner with 2% Hydroquinone and the Old Step 3: Skin Lightening Treatment with 2% Hydroquinone. I hope this helps clarify the differences for you. R&F is more interested in adding consultants than selling the product…It is so frustrating for some like myself who attended a “R&F” party and the whole thing was about joining them to sell. I just wanted to hear about the products and had to ask if were ever going to discuss. So head’s up ladies, if you are selling R&F, don’t forget to discuss your product. The huge and over-bearing push on recruiting new consultants turns away many from even considering looking at R&F. It also completely takes away from your product…to me the company is more of a multi-level marketing scheme to stay away from, rather than a quality skin-care company.
