Dermatologist developed skin care range, Rodan and Fields, was developed by two Stanford trained Dermatologists, Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields. Previously, they developed Proactiv and licensed the products to Guthy Renker. Rodan and Fields was purchased in 2003 by Estee Lauder Companies but the business still operated somewhat independently. Rodan and Fields launched on QVC and it was a huge hit. Rodan and Fields could previously be purchased from high end department stores but it is now concentrating on multi level direct selling through consultants. Rodan and Fields provides an excellent business oppurtunity for women who are passionate about skin care and selling products through friends and family. Their multiplier effect allows consultants to earn significant comission through Multi Level Marketing. Rodan and Fields has a pile of glowing reviews from consumers and very few negative reviews on the internet. Rodan + Fields has been featured in Oprah Magazine, Allure, New Beauty and Vogue.
Many readers complain that Rodan and Fields didn’t work for them. A few Rodan and Fields reviews from consumers: “At best average product. Very very expensive. Plus hard sell to “join the team”, “I have been using the Reverse regimen for 3 months and I am not impressed AT ALL with these products ” and “I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in the products.”
Rodan and Fields achieved an overall rating of 70% and received C for overall effectiveness. Moreover, consumers gave Rodan and Fields two out of five stars. Therefore, we recommend saving the frustration and going for a better choice. Compare to the number one rated product review.
Rodan and Fields has four product categories, including Redefine for aging, Reverse for age spots and uneven skin tone, Unblemish for acne and acne breakouts and Sooth for sensitive, irritated skin conditions, such as Roacea. They also have enhancments that supplement the range, including ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, ENHANCEMENTS Mineral Peptides Broad Spectrum SPF 20, MAXIMUM D3® Vitamin D Supplement and AMP MD™ Purification Tablets. For the purposes of this Rodan and Field review, we have concentrated on facial products and overlooked any body or make up products. We may revisit this in future but right now we are only interested in performance skin care. Fo the first part of the review, we have evaluated REDEFINE and Reverse. For the second part of the review, we will look at Unblemish and Smooth.
First, REDEFINE is anti aging line that containsREDEFINE Daily Cleaning Mask, REDEFINE Pore Minimizing Toner, REDEFINE Tripple Defense Broad Spectrum Treatment and REDEFINE Overnight Restoration Cream. The range can be complemented with REDEFINE Multi-Function Eye Cream, REDEFINE Eye Cloths and REDEFINE MACRO Exfoliator. The product claims to help with loss of firmness, elasticity, fine lines and the appearance of pores. The products contain high concentrations of peptides, antioxidants and other anti aging ingredients to help fight the signs of aging. These products are superior to other anti aging skin care products, however, they are expensive and only represent average value for money. Second, REVERSE is a skin care regimen for brown spots, dullness and uneven skin tone. REVERSE Regimen including Deep Exfoliating Wash, Skin Lightening Toner, Skin Lightening Treatment and REVERSE Broad Spectrum. The products contain Hydroquinone which is the gold standard for skin lightening. It contains the maximum strength of Hydroquinone that is available over the counter without a prescription. The range also contains Retinol and other lightening ingredients. Make sure you wear a sunscreen when using this range.
