What are the key Andalou Natural ingredients?

Although there are many natural skin care brands around today, Andalou Naturals claims that their technology is what really sets them apart. PhytoCellTec is Andalou Naturals’ signature innovation and is formulated within their skin care products. It  consists of a blend of nature’s most potent bioactive ingredients from the heirloom apple, grape, swiss alpine rose, argan tree and hemp plant. Sensitive 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream is packed with beneficial emollients that will help to soften the skin and lock in moisture, such as rosehip fruit oil, squalane, pomegranate seed oil, and more. This cream also features a soothing complex, which is composed of anti-inflammatory and calming ingredients like white tea leaf extract and rooibos extract. Even though this cream is designed for sensitive skin, the brand still includes many fragrant essential oils in the formulation. Andalou Naturals Age Defying Perfecting Beauty Balm provides broad spectrum SPF 30 protection thanks to 20% zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is a mineral sunscreen (also called a physical sunscreen) that protects your skin by using physical UV filters to block or deflect UV light. This BB cream also features quite a few antioxidants to further help protect the skin against free radical damage, such as resveratrol, ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10), pomegranate seed oil, and more.

Similar to the BB Cream, the Andalou Naturals CC Cream contains 20% zinc oxide to provide broad spectrum UV protection. After zinc oxide, the majority of the formula is composed of emollients that will help to soften the skin and lock in moisture. Some of these emollients include jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, hydrogenated castor oil, and dimethicone (a type of silicone).

One of the key ingredients in the Brightening Clementine + C Illuminating Toner is a stable vitamin C derivative called magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. Once absorbed into the skin, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is converted to ascorbic acid (the active form of vitamin C). Ascorbic acid is a potent antioxidant that is known to help the skin combat free radicals while simultaneously brightening the skin tone and fading dark spots.

    I love the sensitive skin 1000 roses foaming cleanser and day cream. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, and these products have helped soothe my skin. I also recently started using the CannaCell Sun Buddy SPF 30 sunscreen, and I have been loving this. I try to opt for gentler skincare products in general, and these seem to suit my skin well.

    I have bought their brightening cleanser and fruit serum. The cleanser contains meyer lemons extract, which if any of you know is a slightly different citrus smell. This gives the cleanser almost a chemical-like smell but otherwise, the cleanser is wonderful. It does not dry out my skin and gently cleans my face and neck. The fruit serum on the other hand has a very tangy fruity smell (think cranberries and raspberries). You don’t need alot of product as it spreads easily and sinks it very fast. It leaves my skin ‘tacky’ for about 1 minute but then this feeling goes away and my skin is left very hydrated with a slight glow. That being said, I think if you layer a moisturiser over-top, pick a very light one if you are in a temperate or humid climate. I use it for PM and in the morning my skin feels so hydrated and soft! I don’t bother washing my face again, but continue with my morning skincare routine. I’m very impressed with these products and I would recommend them for basic uses (creams, cleansers), although I would not say their products are ‘effective’ as I have not seen them reduce any fine lines on my skin (30s).

    I found & I purchased my first Andalou Natural product. What first caught my eye was the beautiful white & orange delight in design packing box. The blue & pink lines are just as enticing….
    The beauty balm …face creams… tinting lotions…body lotions… are to die for.. The first mineral sun protection sheer tint cream I fell in love with on my first usage… Each line that I try gets better and better. These product surely hold up to there promise of moisture and creating a balanced treatment for overall longevity in results!!!!
    Absolutely LOVE THIS PRODUCT.     First of all, I live in a very dry, mountainous/prairie-like climate, which means dry skin, dry hair, and dry everything—so moisture is the solution.

    I’ve been using the Moisture Rich hair care line from Andalou for years now. At first, I thought it was amazing, but that was only because all the other shampoo and conditioners I used up until then were even worse. And I use the WHOLE Moisture Rich line. The shampoo + conditioner, the leave in conditioner, and the deep conditioner. This product left my hair dry, frizzy, tangled, made it fall out a ton, hard to style and maintain. And for years I thought it was just how my hair was and this was as good as it was going to get. I mean, I was using the whole product line, right? It was only when I tried a recommendation from my friend, with stunning results after just one use, that I realized how awful this product was for my hair.

    I enjoy the Coconut Water Day Cream, because it absorbs well, and it’s non-greasy. Although my skin isn’t sensitive, isn’t fussy, and I rarely ever get breakouts, so it’s pretty good with just about any product, but I will NEVER be getting their hair care ever again.

    So their Moisture Rich hair care line gets 0 stars, and the Coconut Water Day Cream gets a solid 3/5. I’ve tried much better moisturizing creams, so while it’s not terrible, it’s not the greatest. All in all, will probably dump this company and all their products forever.

    I have tried the Glycolic Pumpkin Honey Mask along with the face cream. I am impressed with the pleasant scent to both. I can see where some people may be sensitive to some of the products. The pumpkin and honey along with stems of fruits may be irritating to some people’s skin. Luckily I did not have that problem. I also tried their face sheet mask for firming/brightening. I received compliments the very next day on my skin. Surprised because the price is so reasonable.

    I am not sure when this review was written, but I have purchased their products in the US. Whole Foods and Spouts carry the line. I love what I have used so far. Just like anything else….you can have a reaction. Just depends on the person and their sensitivities. I have had no problems. I love the sensitive line as it is soothing to my skin. Would highly recommend.

    Developed severe allergies on my arms from Andalou body lotion with mandarin and vanilla. I used a cortizone creme which took the itch and irritation away after a couple of days. I discontinued the use of it and my rash disappeared. I also used a leave in conditioner in my hair and after going through a couple of tubes, my scalp started itching severely, so much so, I went to see a doctor, she recommended a topical steroid creme as she could not tell what is was. I discontinued using the conditioner for a while and the itching stopped. I re-started using the conditioner and the severe itching came back immediately after using it. It has taking me close to one week for the itching to subside which was helped by using a tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner. Not sure what ingredients in Andalou Naturals is causing the allergic reactions but they only appear after prolonged use, not immediately. I am a healthy 60 year old female, shower daily, wash my hair daily (all my life) and have never had allergic reactions to anything. I have been using natural/organic plant based products for over 10 years from different companies and have never had a reaction from an of them.

    If you’re looking for a cleanser that’s both brightening and nourishing, we’ve got just the one for you. The Andalou Creamy Cleanser with Meyer Lemon and Vitamin C was designed to offer a brightening, soothing and hydrating cleanse to those with tired, dull or dehydrated looking skin. The formula behind this product contains a blend of skin-brightening ingredients such as a fruit stem cell complex, manuka honey and vitamin C to fade signs of hyperpigmentation, even out skin tone and soothe irritated skin. Ingredients like manuka honey are actually so potent, that they are actually used by medical professionals to help speed up wound healing! In addition to this active the fruit stem cell complex, which is unique to Andalou Naturals products, contains antioxidant rich extracts to help boost skin health and protect the skin against environmental aggressors which can cause premature aging.     Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask is a rinse-off mask for normal to combination skin that is said to gently dissolve and sweep away dull, dry surface cells, exfoliating and resurfacing for even tone, smooth texture, and a luminous complexion. One of the key ingredients in this mask is Cucurbita Pepo (pumpkin) puree. The proteolytic enzymes found in pumpkin puree can break down keratin, a protein that acts as a “glue” to keep skin cells together. By dissolving keratin, the pumpkin enzymes helps to exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells, leaving skin looking brighter with a more even tone. In addition, pumpkin enzymes target the skin cell receptors that are responsible for stimulating cell turnover, which reveals a healthier, younger-looking complexion.

    Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask also contains apple and grape stem cells. Similar to human stem cells, fruit stem cells have the ability to regenerate other cells.
